If he managed to put together a run to take us to the Prem, he'd have no clue what to do when we got there.

I don't feel good about this. But then I haven't felt good about supporting Bolton since our capitulation at Wembley.

I guess it's time.

However, 'plus ca change, plus che la meme chose'

His complete inability to stop a defence leaking cheap goals, particularly set pieces, in 18 months.

His stubbornness re 442.
His transfer market delings:
a real madrid 'left back' who couldnt tackle his way out of a paper bag
a £3.5 million striker who is now fourth choice behind occasional shot taker and £4mil bargain ngoals, a pensioner and a loanee from his bezzie arsene wenger
a yank centre half who has eaten more nandos than he's won headers, signed to replace cahill.
A p&o ferry speed centre half, presumably a second go at replacing cahill
a cuddly toy (gregg wylde to me and you)
a championship keeper to replace the premiership one we couldnt train anymore
tyrone fukin mears as part of a £2.5 mil deal with theverygood chris eagles
Keith 'jurys out' Andrews
Darren 'am.I really a footballer' Pratley

Back to tactics

there is no plan B

Ricketts at left back

The shambles of a pre season which means our plyers dont look as fit as everyone elses.

Rifts with players...Martin Petrov (presumably retained on big wages); NRC...Muamba

442 with Mark Davies shoehorned in cos he's young skillfull and engish. Infact spoiling Mark Davies' last 2 sesons through incompetence.

For all the above...Just go, Owen.

One more game then I believe a decision will be made by the board.

However if it had been up to me, he would have been ejected 12 months ago. No change at all in that time.

When you count down you should never ever say five (especially when surrounded by gung-ho types armed to the teeth), just in case five is mistaken for fire.

Would be interesting to do a retrospective piece on Coyle at the Reebok if (or, as it may end up, when) he goes. How to lose friends and alienate people, by OC.

A pal I know's description of Coyle
Reminds me of Fry's version of The Duke of Wellington, I think, in Blackadder 3.
Only rather than shouting at the problems Coyle just claps. The worse the problem the more vociferous the clapping.

"My concern is making sure the players are working their socks off for Bolton Wanderers, which they've done and they've come off the wrong side of some terrible decisions."

"It's clearly not a penalty, I wish I could referee games because there would be a few different decisions given."
I wish you didn't manage us, cos there would also be a "few different decisions".

That's a good idea Owen, give up management and train for your true calling as a referee.

Please.

He seems to think everything will come up roses.

How much more fan unrest will it take?

You'd hope so. That's the whole point for me: it's not Coyle's choice as to whether he stays on at this point, it's up to someone to remove him.

There's certainly way more pressure than you'd like on Sheff Wed away, then it's Palace at home I think. If I was going to bet I'd say a loss and a draw. Then it's Leeds at home and Millwall away, ouch!
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
