Re: Fab's autobiography
What absolute nonsense, Boris. The guy's entire life story is like something out of a boy's own adventure book (or perhaps you're not aware of his family having to flee the DRC when he was about 10). If you think that Muamba's story is one of nothing other than him dying on the pitch then I suggest you buy it and have a read.boltonboris wrote:What is the technique called for extracting the dairy product you put in your brew, from a cows udder?
Or maybe you'd prefer Lewis Hamilton's roller-coaster!

Somehow I image the proceeds will be more limited than imagined in that respect. By the time the publishers, ghost writer and agents get their dabs in it he won't get very rich off it.Verbal wrote:I know. But it's a story worth printing (and making a bob or two on)

I know he 'died' for 90 minutes, but b-hell.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

You'd be surprised how many unremarkable footballers publish 'auto'biographies. We build dens in the office out of them.boltonboris wrote:I don't doubt any of that. But nobody would normally give a feck about his past, if he hadn't almost died
Muamba's is not an unremarkable story, even before the White Hart Lane incident that made his name known around the world. There are a bagful of examples of far less deserving milking.

Can't wait for the Chapter - Cheeky Twunk.

Re: Fab's autobiography
A lot of far far less interesting people have written autobiographies than fabrice. no problem with him milking these sad recent events for cash either when they took his wages away.

incidently, did the club pay up his contract or just tear it up?

Re: Fab's autobiography
I suspect the club had insurance to pay up the contract, possibly extra to compensate for his value on the books at the time. Muamba would have had a payout on his own insurance, presumably x £m.General Mannerheim wrote:you dont think he was insured?Jez wrote:A lot of far far less interesting people have written autobiographies than fabrice. no problem with him milking these sad recent events for cash either when they took his wages away.

Don't blame him for the book. Should be a genuinely interesting read. How many has Rooney done? I mean, what has he got to write about apart from grannies? Just hope Fab's advisor's don't turn him into a circus and have him show up everywhere like John Terry at a trophy presentation!

Re: Fab's autobiography
Thinking about it, he retired, so I think that probably means the contract was mutually terminated, so no wages due unless negotiated by Fab, or offered by the club. Not sure either would have. All guesswork, but the main thing is he'll have enough cash to look after his family.General Mannerheim wrote:i know he was insured, my mate works for Aviva and from what i understand he didnt need to write a book to put bread on the table! i dont blame him either tho...

Don't begrudge the lad, and I will probably give it a read.
However, it best be better than most "football" autbiographies, otherwise I'll not get very far.
If you ever want a really really really bad one, read Steve Bruce's. Shocking!

If you lined up every book ever written by every footballer (in English) I'm pretty sure that anything by that potato-headed nugget would be my last pick. Did someone buy it you or summat, they having employed that mode of logic - Ooooh, Our BWFC_I likes football so I'll get him that?
