In practical terms .... short of an implosion ... Leeds Tuesday is very important & then the Millwall game would be his last if he hasn't picked up a minimum of 4 points from the pair. The international break would give space for the booting out. Beyond that & he'll simply keep driving us to the point where this year's a right-off. Associate that with Lee, Petrov, Holden (if ever fit) and a couple more deciding to bail & by next year we'll be a fixture in this (or even lower) divisions.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

With that kind of foreknowledge, can't they just put you out of your misery now?

I've been saying to some colleagues at work that this is the first time in almost 10 years that they're squad will have a strong chance against ours, on paper and everything else they shouldn't..but with Coyley they do!

Makes sense except that if we lose to Leeds and win at Millwall he'll be sacked after a win. That's been the fate of far better managers, but it would be odd.

Personally I think a loss to Leeds - and the second successive home game ending in fan fury and (literally) pointless desperation - might well cock the trigger. Sammy Lee's available to step in for the Millwall game, and all joking aside, I think he may well be welcomed.

I can see this game being like the Hull one for Megson. It will turn very hostile if things start going wrong. It's the same situation were I want us to get beat in a way so he is more likely to go but who want's to lose? Especially against these. Loosing is far better in the long term.

To be honest I cant see us winning anyway so what we want may be irrelavant.

Oh well - at least they spared you Danny Mills running through our entire midfield and picking out the top corner from 30 yards. :hang:

Coyle today talking about how nothing will "deter him from bringing this young group of players on"

The average age of the team on Saturday was 28.

I like the bloke and it'd be nice if his managerial tenure didn't end on a bad note but enough is enough. The changes that have been made have been less than convincing, the signings we've made have been woeful.

I wanted Megson out for less and we've given Coyle enough time to get it sorted and enough leniency given the Holden and Muamba situations but we can't continue this steady decline without some positives being put in place to address the slide.
This is where I am.
For all my attempts to try and defend him in the past, I've reached here to.

Although I'm sure as a bloke he's nice, don't get all the personal stuff being banded about and that he's not doing us any good

This is it for me, a loss tonight & I'm officially giving him no more chances. It's daft to put everything on one match of course but there has to be a line in the sand somewhere. Truth be told I already have no remaining hope he has what it takes hidden away somewhere in reserve which just hasn't been showing through (in a long, long time). There have been unfortunate decisions against us recently but it's no excuse when you've been here for long enough to put together a finished product. He's been given chance upon chance upon chance & there has to come a point where he gets no more.

So to my mind this is it. I don't think a draw here, & then maybe even a win at Millwall, will prove that after all he can do it but as a line in the sand: a loss at home tonight would be the straw that broke the camels back & his time should be up.

Yeah this is where I am too. For way too long now he's not being doing his job well enough and there comes a point when there's only one way to deal with that.
