Sordell needs to get nearer to Davies. No point him winning headers with nobody near him. Eagles gave him a bollocking about it earlier.

Drawing with an in-form Leeds United team isn't that bad a result. Especially given the manner of their second goal.

Leeds have won the last 4 games (incl. knocking Everton out of the cup) and we've managed the same result that Blackburn managed against them (although Blackburn was playing away at the time)
Wow :spank:

I didn't say it was a good result I just seem less aggrieved knowing that we at least gave it a good effort, which is substantially different than bowing out to Crystal Palace and Crawley.

Not sure that Afobe and NGog are any better in this respect. It sounded like we offered more threat with Petrov getting crosses in and Sordell and KD attacking them.

I expect that buys him another game . It sounded better and we actually came back and showed some fight. That said had dioufs effort been and inch lower he'd probably be a goner

bwfcdan94 messaged me saying Afobe is our best striker, end of debate. Now I would love to hear the explanation for this

Well, I'll raise a glass to our donkey of a front man who shouldn't be picked, legs gone, too old,
well past it captain who luckily deflected two balls into their net.

Kevin Philips bangs goals in for fun but usually starts on the bench just as Davies should IMO. Both know where the goal is but can't do the running anymore.

We now need to win 7 games in a row to average 2 points per game.

According to the commentary he was outstanding tonight. He seems to be the only striker of the four we have that coyle has any real faith in and he does offer an option none of the others offer. Ideally he should be coming off the bench but unless one of the others ups their game I cant see him not starting

Not sure why a guy, regardless of age and who's never injured, who banged two in tonight (and let's face it, what are our scoring options?) should come off the bench. In favour of who up front? He can't go on forever I agree, but till we get a goalscorer up front, what options?

Because TD his presence on the pitch dictates our one dimensional method of play. It negates so many oyther options & other playes. It makes us predictable. It defines us and it limits us.

However well he plays, overall it detracts from our overall performance.

Either we've conceeded 4 penalties in 4 games because there's a conspiracy against us or we coz we have defenders who can't run playing a line up near the half way line. Brum, ball in behind recovery run and 'foul' by Alonso. Palace ball down the wing, knight one on one, done for pace, tried recovery run penalty. Tonight, ball in behind, recovery run penalty. I was still inside and saw it on the screen. I can see why he gave it. Might be soft but we'd have been going mad if we hadn't got it. I wouldn't mind, but if you want to play tippy tappy you want to be playing deeper anyway to draw them out!

First half an hour was fantastic, and showed we've got good players in there. Their right back is supposedly highly rated but Eagles made him look pish. Eagles was ace. Then conceded from a poor set piece (if I Lonergan I'd be knocking on the (hopefully new) managers door). Second half was typically pish. Then brought Petrov on and stuck him on the fecking right! On purpose! At one point he and Eagles drifted to their natural sides and the daft f*cker waved them back. Unreal!
