You did say, sir and my apologies for not remembering. Paris is the week before London (as is Brighton) and I shall be heartily avoiding all three.

And that is a month prior to the White Peak marathon for which I'm being "volunteered".Gary the Enfield wrote:Verbal wrote:Cheers fella. Yeah I did the Greater Manchester one this year. Hoping for slightly better weather in France!

Re: The athletics/running thread
Bedford Sprint Triathlon this weekend.
Already nervous. I haven't swam half as much as I should, my cycling is abysmal and my run times are slipping (22.26 for a 5k in midweek).
Should be good for a PB!

Rossendale Walking Festival this weekend. I might go for a PB of two sandwiches, a scotch egg AND a flapjack

Got the Rivington half marathon tomorrow. Looks like it's going to be muddy under foot!

I understand he was the one that 'designed' todays course. Fair play to him - it's an absolute cracker. Some tough climbs, lots of mud & great support en route. Did it in 1.50 which I was pretty chuffed withPrufrock wrote:Staveley was in tonight saying he is marshalling tomorrow. You daft bastard. Re: The athletics/running thread
Missed my pb by 40 seconds. Ironically the amount of time it took me to find my bike space in 2nd transition. Bugger.
Still, I managed 20:33 for the 5k run at the end (think it was a little short, though)

Yes. I seem to do quite well on this circuit as it's completely flat. Although it's (I feel) short of 5k I still managed to run it a minute quicker than the same race in May, so a big improvement. Perhaps I should cycle to every race.
