Is there anything supporting this particular contention?BWFC_Insane wrote:Well, as I predicted its all bollocks, made up by hopeful fans.
He's not being sacked. Not until he's lost some more games anyhow.

Or just "It's 09:30 on a Monday and we've as yet not heard anything"

But fairly speculative as an article..David Lee's Hair wrote:Shocking...
Re: If Coyle gets the sack
If true it looks like the club have zero ambition to ever get back into the premier league.
What a joke

err... what exactly is it in that article that says he is not going to be sacked?

there is no quote from "the club" in that article - merely some whiney-beef from Coyle.

Indications from the club are he is safe for now.......thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... ws/9971090._/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Worthy4England wrote:Is there anything supporting this particular contention?BWFC_Insane wrote:Well, as I predicted its all bollocks, made up by hopeful fans.

Read it again. The "indications" are not in the same sentence as "from the Club"...BWFC_Insane wrote:Indications from the club are he is safe for now.......thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... ws/9971090._/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Worthy4England wrote:Is there anything supporting this particular contention?BWFC_Insane wrote:Well, as I predicted its all bollocks, made up by hopeful fans.

They will be though. That will be a plant to stop the speculation without PG having to come out and back him publically and take a load of flak in the process!

hmmmm.... just had a horrible thought...
we'll all be sorry when Coyle gets the push - as then Alan Nixon will know nowt about Bolton and we'll all be wandering in the darkened mist when it comes to the January transfer window...

Well, by then we'd be truly beggared.
If it's true & I turn up at all it'll be to boo him ... so best I find a new way to spend my Saturdays, I think

Re: If Coyle gets the sack
The fact is, he's meeting ED & PG today. He won't resign, but he seems - especially in the first and second paragraphs below - to be saying "back me or sack me". You have to wonder in these situations how effusive the reassurances have to be. When Coyle says "so, gentlemen, do you believe in me," what if Eddie looks out of the window before meeting his eye? What if Phil's confidence is qualified?
Owen Coyle said rather than wrote:I would never ever walk away from Bolton Wanderers. If, when we speak, that the powers that be feel the club need to go in a different direction then I’d understand that. It’s football. It’s not something I’m going to run from. Phil and Eddie know my thoughts because I speak to them on a daily basis. They know how much I care about Bolton Wanderers.
Of course, I’ll take stock of the situation. All I want is the best for the club – whether that’s Owen Coyle there, or someone else. If there’s someone better suited to the football club it’s something I won’t avoid. I’ll analyse and see if there’s anything more I could have done as manager in the build up to the game. I know myself and my staff are working relentlessly. We are working our socks off. It’s the fine margins of football. And I know all about them because I’ve been on the right side of them often enough.
This sounds bizarre, daft, given the situation, but I know what we’ve put in place here at the football club, I know the infrastructure and that everything is in place for the club to kick on and be very healthy for many years to come. Equally, I’ve got to accept that people don’t want to hear about that. They only want results on the pitch. When you are winning games then all that sounds like it’s rosy in the garden.
Coming off the win at Sheffield Wednesday there’s no doubting it’s been three disappointing games. We wanted a far greater amount of points than we have taken from them. If we had, we’d be in a good position to make a challenge. I’ve no fear we will but we’re making it harder for ourselves every week.

Referring to yourself in the third person? A sure sign of an egomaniac
