Maybe. I just think that if it all goes right for Keane, his status in the game and single-mindedness could mean that it could go very right. I just don't see the same potential upside (even if unlikely) with any of the other possible names. Perhaps it's a gamble, but what's the worst that could happen?

Relegation

I see no reason to suspect it could go right

His reputation and status didn't help him at Sunderland and Ipswich

If we get rid of one clueless arse, I really don't want to replace him with another

Words escape me. I really can't fathom where they come up with this stuff.

Maybe we can do a swap deal - we give West Ham a young up and coming manager, whose philosophy is attractive flowing football, and we get Allardyce back.

you only have to watch keane on itv to realise why he isn't suited to management. he expects perfection from every single player in every single moment of every single game. if he came here he'd probably kill the entire squad with his bare hands after the first training session.

That'd certainly lower the wage bill.
I don't think he's as mental as some are making out. Edgy, yes; dangerous, maybe; a gamble, certainly: but not a nutter.
That's not a leopard!

I just want someone with some intensity, not another gormless wonder.

Who's your preferred candidate?

Truth?

Dunno

I'm from outside football so I don'ty knoiw these things

I do know playing lobsided formation like this clown insists on, means owt can only be an improvement

I'd not be looking for the pitchforks with anybody

Hill or Jackett

Or McCarthy

NOT Keane

NOT Brown

Neil McDonald fits the ex clubman bit - experience under Allardyce

One from left field, but Henrik Larsson? Respected ex-player, seems to be doing well in Sweden and someone who comes to the club with no prior association or preconceptions so hopefully the clean sweep we're in need of.

He's not being sacked. Not until he's lost some more games anyhow.
Is there anything supporting this particular contention? :-)

John mcGinlay has been a bit more involved in and around the reebok over recent months, is this a sign?

surely this wont happen?

what about a Nicky Sponner and Scott Green management team.

feck knows who Gartside will pick, is it not time for him to go now, as he has picked 4 shite managers thus far so why will he get it right this time?

Nixon's article, a "U-turn" apparently. I suspect there is more to this than meets the eye. I wonder if Coyle did not like the names suggested to "help him out"?

Another thing I've reverse jinxed, I must have a talent....

He'd need to spend £80m to get promoted?
