Will have to change my username now; or will I now he's (I've) been sacked) ???
Interesting one about Sammy Lee maybe taking over temporarily though. Notwithstanding most supporters would naturally be up in arms with that plan, I guess that he is the only person in the backroom staff with anything like that experience, so would the board see this as possiibly a chance of doing things "on the cheap", and put him in "very temporary" charge, with the hope that we start to have a winning streak and we forget all about what happened in his previous tenure, and it is made permanent. Nothing as fickle as fans you know when the team is winning !!

Hang on to them. He may get a job at a club that plays in white. Bury, say. Then, their value will rocket.

I'm going for a lie-down now.

If he does, we'll always beat our old teams. It's the immutable law of the X.

Yeah. I think it looks like the talks yesterday were maybe about trying to find a way forward with Coyle in charge, and that they couldn't.

One thing I will say is that now he's gone, and he had to, he handled himself very well for the Muamba situation. He seems like a nice bloke who had a real affinity with BWFC.

Its a shame he was left to drag us as low as he did. He might have been spared the past few months of pain if he'd gone last season.

Now he's not here, I don't dislike him or feel anything other than relief that its all ended.

I doubt there is some magic fairytale ending for BWFC. But we need a steady competent hand in charge. I hope Nixon is wrong and that we go, initially at least for some experience.

We can still challenge this season IF the right man is found to sort things out quickly. I fear it may not be a long term fix however.

I see no need to panic about the presence of Lee. He's just the most experienced man for the interim job. There's 11 days till the next game, he may not even get the chance to pick a team. And I rather doubt that incoming managers will be forced to accept Lee as a key member of staff (ie assistant manager or chief coach as opposed to his current academy/development position).

No crocodile tears from me. He probably cleared £1 million pa so I don't think sympathy is in order. He was an awful manager whose parting shot was to claim football is only about the players and you're clueless if you think otherwise. Never knowingly made a mistake. Replaced professionalism with cronyism. Created a fractious dressing room. Sidelined players he'd fallen out with, of which there seemed to be many. He benched Muamba for Darren Pratley for goodness sake. A player that can't even get 10 minutes in a struggling Championship side!

A year too late but at least he's finally gone. I used to think he was a nice bloke but I seriously doubt that now. Nevertheless I wish him well.

I'm not THAT overjoyed. Although I'll admit I did shout "Yes!" and punch the air with both fists.Sorry it didn't work out, Owen. I wish you no ill and will look back on your reign as something that didn't work out. Onwards and upwards... via a proper interview process, please.
I was in a meeting at work when I got the news via text and this was my reaction too!!. Rather unprofessional of me I know, but I couldn't hold back.

Good luck in the future Owen. It just wasn't meant to be this time around.
Hope is what keeps us going.

Sorry it ended this way. Had some really good memories from his first full season in charge but it's all gone downhill from 'that' FA Cup semi. Coyle had some really bad luck last season, with the injuries to CYL and Stu Holden, then the Fab business and at the end, the two dodgy Stoke goals which sent us down. It's become clear, though, that he isn't the man to turn our current predicament around. Our league position, not even having played the likes of Leicester, Cardiff, Blackpool, Boro, Blackburn or Cardiff yet, isn't where we would have expected to be and we have collected 1 point out of the last three games, all of which should have been winnable. Good luck in the future, Owen, but best for all concerned that you move on.

Got to say, it's a good time to sack him given the international break too.

Finally. I must admit I cheered a bit when I read the news. A good man, but he was dragging the club down with his poor decision making. Looking forward to better times ahead.

I think the club should NOT announce who the new manager is - and appoint someone secretly - and have it remain a secret - and for interviews and touchline stuff we have a big cardboard cut-out silhouetted with Dr X written on it... and a voiceover man...

it'd add some mystery and mystique...

for safety's sake - to stop leaks - he would always work with the players in disguise and with a voice-distorter...

I think someone has summed it up previously.
Gutted it didnt work out for Coyle, but its the best move for the club, and that is the most important thing.
