6th in the premiership, qualified for the UEFA cup.

7th in the premiership

At Fulham

To be fair to BWFCi, he's not ruled out us getting Peter Puppies in yet. Who btw, has never relegated anyone from the Premiership either.

well didn't know i had to give reasons but
1. he's mediocre, yes he's got teams out of "this" division but so has Coyle with a team with infinitely less resources
2. doesn't strike me as the organisational genius many on this board at least say we need- the Roy Keane hulabaloo at ROI was perhaps overdone but still..
3. Bluff Yorkshireman just doesn't do it for me-
4. it strikes of short term thinking.
5. his record doesnt strike me with confidence that he can get the best out of players over the season. Fletcher? Doyle? Jarvis? Kightly?- all would walk into our team.

Only asked because I couldnt see why McCarthy was so taboo whereas the others mentioned I understood.
1 McCarthy has consistently got teams up, not just once.
2 Agree McCarthy is by no means a tactical genius. He does seem to motivate and has a good record of finding talent on a budget.
3 but hey you know if it matters to you fair enough
4Yep it's short termism but I think that's where we may be at. Does the club have time to back a complete overhaul at this point.
5 Yep some of those decisions seem odd looking from the outside but if players lose form and others are playing better it s justifiable

I was surprised because of what there is available mccarthy looks a very strong candidate from a fairly limited set of options. The board may well look for the manager most likely to get us up while we still have parachute money and McCarthy may well be that manager.
What happens beyond that I suspect they may worry about when they have to rather than now.

two things firstly i wouldnt take BSA back now as he is clearly past it and leaving Bolton has damaged his carrer secondly hoof ballstill works look at Stoke they are basically coping us they will soon be in europe again and will stay up for at least a few more years. we are more likely to have succes especially in this league with a good hoofball manager than a passing football manager and anyway we could attract a better quality hoofball manager than we could passing football manager
