Re: Sammy Lee's Bolton v Peter Puppies' City... The Match Th
Just got back in. Fecking tremendous to get 3 pts under such circumstances.
One thing though before I go out and get legless. Anyone that still doubts SKDs value to the team should be forced to watch that match sat on a rusty spike. A teriffic captains performance where it was his effort and committment that seemed to rub off on the others AND he proved we dont have to lump the ball up to him, he's got a great touch when played into his feet and with midfielders running off him.
Add Bristol City to the long list of opponents on their way home muttering "Kevin feckin Davies"

Also just home,
brilliant to come back from 2 - 0 down to win but I still feel we shouldn't have even been in that position anyway.

As I wasn't there I have no idea how the Bristol goals were conceded. Can anyone confirm the circumstances?
Second, definitely a penalty.
Re: Sammy Lee's Bolton v Peter Puppies' City... The Match Th
What's with all the people moaning? The first was a class finish and the second was a penalty that shouldn't have been a penalty seeing it back on the box when I got home.
To come back from 2 down against anybody is first class and would never have happened under Coyle. Let stop with the negativity and enjoy the win guys!

How long does it take them to put the goals on Wanderers Player?

It's great to get a win, it's even better to come back from 2-0 down but sticking your head in the sand and thinking everything is fine is what lead to us being 18th in the Championship. It has to be recognised that the team we put out today didn't have enough in the middle and we conceeded two goals yet again (whether you think it was a penalty is neither here nor there).ChrisC wrote:What's with all the people moaning? Anyone who didn't think that was a good performance can get fecked, it was easily our best performance of the season. We just had a really bad start and to me the penalty looked debatable. They had ONE SHOT on goal in the first 50 minutes excluding the penalty, of which they scored from.
We put them under loads of pressure in my opinion and fully deserved the three points. How refreshing not seeing Keith Andrews and Ngog in the side. Just get Sordell in now and we are fine!

Just back too. Wonder goal and a pen granted but the first 20 mins we were as bad as I've ever seen us! But after they settled down we were fantastic! The way played in the build up to half time I knew we weren't gonna lose. Second half tremendous. Motm for me SKD or Warnock.

Re: Sammy Lee's Bolton v Peter Puppies' City... The Match Th
That was weird. In an ace way.
We were sooooo much better with the ball it was unreal. Like, a plan and everything. First half hour was odd, they had the ball in our box twice, and scored twice. Wonder goal for the first, and what looked like the stonewallest of stonewall penalties from a ludicrous challenge by Ream. Even then I always felt like we were going to win. Matt Mills at one point was like a combination of Beckenbauer and Hierro, including one textbook 40 yard crossfield volley! Kevin Davies was pulling strings, and the second and third goals were a joy to watch.
There is still a LOT of work to do at the back though. If Sam Baldock could head we'd have lost that game. It is going to take longer than two weeks to sort out two years of ineptitude though.
The team was a weird one. First of all, Ream is shite, and hopefully Knight was injured/dropped for being late and either he or Ricketts can come in on Tues. I was wary of that midfield, but Mark Davies had one of his good days, was involved a lot, and he and Spearing bossed it fairly easily. Bristol City were absolutely balls. Hopefully the management realised that and so we were more open. Even then we looked miles better second half when we swapped from a flat 4-4-2 to a 4-2-3-1 with Eagles, Petrov and Afobe all milling around Super Kevin Davies. The football for the second and third was brilliant. Kevin 'Silva' Davies threading through balls for the cool-headed Spearing; Eagles, Kev and Chungy combining to put in the ice-cool Petrov. LOOOL.
Also, so many of our fans are whinging cock-ends. Eagles got absolute dog's abuse throughout! I don't get it. He is a bit mard, but he is less soft than Petrov, and does more, and yet these fans hate him, and love Petrov! The latter is an absolute fanny. Head in his hands when it looks like someone might want to head it near him. I'd still have him in like, coz he's got fantastic ability, but I'd hate to be playing behind him. Also booed the ref off for giving a penalty. Oh my. Ref was shite mind, both ways. Seemed to get absolutely everything wrong. One of theirs looked like he should have gone for a Souness on-his-own-player-in-training tackle.
Anyway, a really good game, and three points. Great going forward, pish at the back, which is an improvement in one area anyway. See what happens at Wolves.
ABS.

the r5 report I heard on my way home said we were thrashing them 2-2!

Nobody is sticking there head in the sand and I was calling for Coyle to go long ago. I'm just looking at the facts.. They scored a wonder goal and had a penalty that shouldn't have been IMO.Whookam wrote:It's great to get a win, it's even better to come back from 2-0 down but sticking your head in the sand and thinking everything is fine is what lead to us being 18th in the Championship. So if they had only got there wonder goal we would have won 3-1 and everything would have been rosey.
Some people just love to find the negatives. We bossed that game and we got the win we deserved. Not a chance we would have won today with Coyle in charge.. Bolton fans should be dancing on the fecking ceiling tonight. The best game we have seen for a long time and that was with an interim manager in charge so lets not get to critical of lineups etc.. until we have a full time boss.
