took advantage of a lovely sunny day to take myself and the dog off up to Fingle Bridge - and a long walk starting and finishing at the Fingle Bridge Inn - and a welcome pint of Teignworthy Reel Ale...

Aye - I know - and I am sure I spotted the ghost of a slightly hefty sprollie waddling down the path a couple of times... ;-)

anyway - as for popping into Drewsteignton - it'd have been rude not to!

:) Did you like it there? Its a lovely area. You were very near East Fingle farm then! Never took Milo to devon - He'd have been a nightmare in the car. Spent many a happy day on that river on a home made raft in the summer with Tan and Tims 2 lads and a couple of spaniels splashing in the water! Thanks for making me smile and go 'Ahhhh' Now i want to go there again, not been for years. :(

Yeah, needed to get out for some fresh air! Mr GG was out for the morning so just trotted up and down the path a few times, fell over in the mud (them, not me) nothing too ambitious.

you trees seem a lot more on the turn than ours... must be that this is the "english riviera!!" I was hoping the autumn colours would have been a lot more advanced today - but, still very green...

Really? The ones on the common are far more pretty shades of red and orange, i thought the woods seemed quite green still!

That's a lovely photograph, GG. It does though evoke thoughts of Friar Tuck escorting Maid Marian to Nottingham.

Recognised that straight away even though I was there only once one summer, many years ago. I've got an abiding memory of the abundant dragonflies.

Gets my vote, LGM (although before they got to Mordor I think).

Maybe Sam & Frodo setting off from the Shire right early on.

You could sell copies of that photo, I'm convinced. It's absolutely fantastic. :) Jack's duffle coat must've cost you a mint, btw. It's magnificent.
