I'm not entirely sure a quote from Jimmy Phillips confirms Palace have given us permission.
Sky have been known to "jump the gun" before.....

That reads like it's from last week anyhow...BWFC_Insane wrote:http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11672/8186921" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;truewhite15 wrote:Source?CAPSLOCK wrote:Palace allow Bolton and DF to speak

Can't see Garty turning up on the training ground on a Sunday.

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
I know Jimmy is one of ours but we could lose the next two and a lot of that enthusiasm would presumably be gone as soon as it arrived!
As I said before, if JP is doing a great job at the academy, and judging by the u18s results he might well be, then let's keep him there. It's very important for the club.
Anyone else enjoying another set of fans crying about our billy big bollocks attempt to thieve their manager?

I am mainly because I'm not arsed either way, which makes it more funny.Athers wrote:I know Jimmy is one of ours but we could lose the next two and a lot of that enthusiasm would presumably be gone as soon as it arrived!

This comment for example.....oh the irony....
FWIW can't see and refuse to see Dougie leave for Bolton, a sidewards step at best
Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
He'd be a gamble, surely...
he's only got 90 games under his belt as a manager in total
and Crystal Palace have leaked more goals even then we have this season....

Gamble indeed.thebish wrote:He'd be a gamble, surely...

He's done a good job there, under the circumstances. Certainly not enough information to judge him either way IMO.
Pretty much any manager would be a gamble one way or another.
Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
if DF came - would he insist on being called Doogie - or could we call him "Dug" - this is the kind of stuff that Garty needs sort out right from the start...

This one is a cracker!
A little warning to the Doug.
Bolton have been sinking slowly ever since Big Sam left. Owen Coyle (Who IMO should be our No 1 choice to replace Dougie) is a superb manager who couldn't even get it right; your risking a lot going there, as lets make it clear, if you don't win promotion, you will likely be unemployed in 18 months time.
Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
hmmmmm... much has been said about a more involved role for LSL and Jiminho in first-team coaching...
I, for one, would be a lot happier (if we employ another young inexperienced ex-striker-manager) if we were to bring in a first team defensive coach to work with him.
the Palace goals-conceded column does not fill me with confidence that DF is the obvious man to sort out our obvious problem!

Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
from the linked palace thread...
the last couple of months of last season was not only relegation form but dull as dishwater, maybe dare I say it the Doug is not that amazing he´s just hit a purple patch and right now he´s in the spot light as fast as his stock has risen it can drop again

Well yes. But they do sit 4th with 20 points, on a budget far far smaller than ours. Which suggests he has at least got some things right.thebish wrote:hmmmmm... much has been said about a more involved role for LSL and Jiminho in first-team coaching...

Freedman is the obvious choice...
By that I mean his agent is non other than Mark Curtis

You're serious? Any evidence for this?
Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
indeed - but not the thing that we need to get fixed!BWFC_Insane wrote:Well yes. But they do sit 4th with 20 points, on a budget far far smaller than ours. Re: Now he's gone, who's next?
He's the obvious choice in that he's probably cheaper to hire than a more experienced manager. He's probably willing to work with the existing coaching team, whereas a more experienced manager would probably want to bring his own team and he's probably willing to work with the players he inherits rather than demanding a transfer budget as part of the deal. I just wonder whether they're the right reasons for appointing a manager.boltonboris wrote:Freedman is the obvious choice...

Is anyone else getting a feeling of De-ja-vu?
The circumstances when we got Allardyce in I mean.

yes - but in my case - the circumstances when we got Coyle in...DJBlu wrote:Is anyone else getting a feeling of De-ja-vu?
