Just got back. First 20 or so minutes we bossed the game and deservedly took the lead while playing Afobe on the right flank in a 4-5-1, it certainly wasn't a 4-4-2 as some have suggested in this thread. Two lapses cost us and we looked shaken. I like the way we shaped up initially, we controlled possession but lacked movement in the final third. Once Petrov got one on one with the full back he looked like he could beat him easily and whipped in a few good balls. It'll take time to get used the system but once we get patterns of play in the final third with the attacking players we have, we'll be a real threat in this division.

2nd half we switched to a 4-4-2 with Eagles wide right. It really was patchy until the last 20 minutes were it seemed we sieged their goal. We always look vulnerable on the counter in that system but I felt they could drive a bus through our midfield at times. Still the last 15 minutes yielded some decent chances and the goal was inevitable imo.

Afobe is just awful, get a proper winger out there who can make the right runs and beat a man(cough Lee) and keep Eagles behind the striker. He is quite something in this division. Just unbelievably good. Even Mavies made a few decent jinky runs with the ball and looked like his better self. I had my heart in my mouth when Davo moved to central defence for a few minutes near the end!

Positives to build on for sure and with Dougie a proponent of the 4-5-1 he might implement the right players in it.

I know it's been suggested that Afobe may have a minimum appearances clause in his loan contract... is it possible that we're just using him as much as we have to early on so we can be shot of him sooner?

He really is awful...

I'm more worried about Ngog, cost a bomb and looked like he got injured AGAIN.

Why did OC only seem to buy cripples?!

And who had the bright idea to get shut of Jussi AND Ali for Bogdan :spank:

Biggest laugh of the night was seeing Wolves ground half-empty after they'd spent millions installing new seats in their super-duper new stand

we are only guessing, but shirley to God we can't have to play a player who's simply not up to it ?!

Goals: http://www.footreview.net/home/viewvide ... 2-2-bolton

Shocker from Bogdan on the second – you can't parry the ball straight back into the box. I think he's got it in him to be a top keeper, but he does look low on confidence right now.

Bogdan is carrying an injury.

He has hurt his back.

With all the bending over picking the ball out of the net.

Was impressed yesterday. Apart from a spell when we conceeded the goals we looked good, Passed the ball well and played it along the floor and played some good football. We cant just play well for 80 Minutes because today proved you switch off and your 2-1 down and chasing the game. I thought Mears looked OK! in the 2nd half still a very dodgy player. Eagles IMO is a different player this season. Looks rapidoo!

When Holdens back it has to be a 4-5-1 with KD leading the line.

Gulity for both goals,in my opinion.

The first one,ok,it's 1 on 1 chance,it's not his fault that Doyle was left alone, but at least he could close his legs.

The second one,he could choose where to punch the ball and he made the worst decision.

Lonergan between posts,soon,I hope.

There's becoming quite a long history of him parrying the ball out to the attackers when you'd expect him to turn it round the post, smother it or catch it.

I think he'll stuggle to be a top keeper until and unless he sorts that out.

Maybe it is time for him to be rested but how good is a 200000 quid leeds reserve keeper going to be? Anyone

Goalkeeping for goal number 2 was pathetic.

Looking at those goals, Ream could've been tighter, quicker on Doyle and Bogdan was too easily beaten. Second goal, poor goalkeeping again. He should be parrying that out wide and out of trouble.

Good fnishes on all 4 goals, but equally, poor defending for them all.

Dunno how long the highlights run, but Afobe was definitely culpable on the first one

But, he's not a right winger

His selection ahead of Lee confuses me - unless he's still not fit, over 6 months after Clueless thought it right to throw him back in?

It doesn't show that, it shows the lad threading it through what looks like the Channel tunnel for Doyle to hit it fairly tamely into (practically) the middle of the goal..

I didn't realise Lonergan was injured. Surely the first job of the new manager is to bring in an emergency 'keeper? For competition purposes if nothing else.

There seems to have been so many goals this season where as a one-off you could forgive a 'keeper for not saving them, but you'd still expect them to keep a few out over the course of a campaign. He doesn't drop massive clangers, but he doesn't really seem to save anything either.

We're missing a goal-scorer badly.

SKD has never been one.
Afobe is a bottle-bank and doersn't want to be here.
Ngog is terrible, a terrible cripple, and he cost £4m
Sordell is more interested in talking about racism than playing football, what a waste of money and (supposed) talent.

We'd have beat them wanker 10-2 last night if SJM was still playing :pissed:
