If you are referring to the anonymous blog, sorry, it was probably written by DF's cat. More holes than swiss cheese.BWFC_Insane wrote:Seems like Freedman is saying the Palace owners did not do enough to keep him.
Oh dear.
And the Palace owners account of the events are beginning to unravel. Saying that they agreed compensation on Sunday but then seemingly denying permission to us on the Monday.
I smell a pair of owners telling a few porkies to the Palace fans.
Feel sorry for their fans in all this really.
I understand you are looking for sound reasons why he left, but we are struggling to find them. Anyways, the mob want Sir Steve back (for the 100th time!), but I believe it is a step back looking to the past. That said, even though I believe it wrong on many levels, it's stupid enough for us to do, and that's why we will do it. Never a dull moment and I love it.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
That is the bit that worrys me, I think that it won't be long before the backroom staff follow, I would have thought that our new manager coming in will want his own people anyway, but my preference would be for us to keep who we have and then we can afford to test out a young manager with good guidance.CPFC4EVA wrote:under the guidance of Lennie LawrenceBL3 wrote:Who assembled that squad?CPFC4EVA wrote:Well, he ain't that good! Our current squad however, is good!
I think that Bolton fans have to be aware that if he has any success with you, and something else comes up he will be off.....loyalty is obiously not his strong point.
I thought that our owners must have done something wrong in dealing with him, I know one of the marketing staff although not on the playing side of the staff they all know the ins and outs, they feel it was driven by money.
This is a well written article written from a Palace perspective,http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog ... n-football I know most of you won't be that interested in our perspective right now but you might be in the future if he does have success.
I do hope that it works out for you guy's, but really want our new man to woop his arse when we next meet naturally...

If he has enough success to attract a better job so be it...we'll be in a better position.

So this so called team that had nothing to do with DF and was already there wasn't doing the trick until DF brough in some players of his choosing and things improved. Yet lots of palace fans are claiming its the team that is making DF look better than he is.
Sounds to me like DF had a lot to do with your good run and he had to fight to get the players he wanted. Maybe if the palace board had backed him earlier or last season this magic run might have happened sooner.

DF Bought in Jedinak Great buy, But it was Tony Popovic who reccomended him Australian connection, he bought in three other really good players that have recently bedded in really well.So this so called team that had nothing to do with DF and was already there wasn't doing the trick until DF brough in some players of his choosing and things improved. Yet lots of palace fans are claiming its the team that is making DF look better than he is.
I think he can build a team But is that what you need?
Most Palace fans will tell you our squad was down to two players on the bench at the end of administration, with a squad of 18 you see how well any team can do, George Burley bought in a few players which did okay, But the core of the team of youth is palace pre administration and would have included the likes of players like Victor Moses
etc if we were not in administration.
I do not really know any thing about your squad, but it can't be any where as bad as ours while we were in administration, so let's hope that he can make good choices, and motivate you guys into winning and getting to where you guys want to be.

Do you actually remember Sam Allardyce, Dan? I mean is it in the same way you remember Bill Ridding?bwfcdan94 wrote:Delighted at the news Freedman has been made manager i think he will take the club further than BSA.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
I never said this team was nothing to do with him. Clearly, he purchased the players he purchased, and he made some astute signings and also some pretty average stuff too. Like many managers I guess. The key change in our results coincided entirely with a change in style. If DF leans towards his base style, of keeping tight and defend any lead, you are in for some turgid affairs. If he chooses the latter style of 8 games, you'll have fun.ChrisC wrote:Eagle in peace wrote:Yes, lost the first 3. I recall your forum dismissing our team when we won a few weeks back, so there is inconsistency coming through in some of your fans posts now. Essentially, you guys will want to believe in him, and that's only right. We did.

I'm not commenting one way or another. I am just dealing in the facts regarding your recent good form. A lot of Bolton fans have commented on how they are worried because alot of Palace fans are saying DF has been made to look better than he is by the team and that it manages itself. Seems very short sighted when you couldn't buy a win early doors and then DF turned things around with his own signings and got things to work. He can't be half as bad as most Palace fans have made out if he can go from almost getting the sack to turning things round big time.
Look at Coyle for example when he was under pressure. He had all pre season to sort us out even got money from the board and still couldn't turn things around. This simple reason for this was because he is a shite clueless manager along with his staff. Shite managers get found out eventually because when the shit hits the fan they have no plan B. DF isn't the finished manager by a long way but he has shown he has a plan B and can identify problems in a team and find the right players to fix things.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Had forgotten about the 5hitty way Steve 'Mrs Doubtfire' Bruce left Palace. For them this must be like Super John becoming manager for us then leaving to take over at say Charlton.
A lot of folk on here were suggesting if Gartside were to get this appointment wrong he'd be in danger of losing his job pretty quickly. I assume he has seen or knows something about Dougie that we dont/haven't? He surely to God hasn't gambled his gravy train on an 8 match unbeaten run has he?

When you look at the attributes Freedman supposedly has, it makes a lot of sense. Time will tell. Let's not judge it too early..........Harry Genshaw wrote:Had forgotten about the 5hitty way Steve 'Mrs Doubtfire' Bruce left Palace. Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Oh aye, am not judging him. As someone said a while back - I expect DF to be a success..based on absolutely nothing, but there's something just seems right to me. That said, reading some of the Palace fans on here (who have showed a lot of class with their reasoned responses by the way) there is a suggestion that Dougie was floundering a bit until he hit on this recent unbeaten run - then Phil came knocking..BWFC_Insane wrote:When you look at the attributes Freedman supposedly has, it makes a lot of sense.
