It's not about the money. Bolton walked through the front door. He's got to move his kids to Manchester because his family's lives are at risk. :|

Was the back door locked? Or do they have patio doors, to fit more people through?
I'm sure more will come out about this door situation in the days to come...

I thought that was a bit dramatic.. I'm assuming he must live in Croydon!!

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but according to 'Eastenders'...when you move to Maaaanchester from Landan, it generally means you're being killed off. So if anything his family are in more danger up here??

 Brilliant!!! That really put a much needed smile on my face, classic!!

On a serious note, his quote of "putting his families lives at risk" is incredibly dramatic. I mean Shiiiiiiiit, seriously??!!?? What is he on?

Sad thing about all this is if the owners had re-newed his contract last week we wouldn't even be here. They seriously couldn't have done this though until at least November/December as his form prior to the last 8 matches was shocking! As it was the tail end of last season.

Look guys, I genuinely wish you well. Have no issues with Bolton fans what so ever and Bolton isn't a club on my sh1tlist. I have a few others that are but Boltons not one of them. Obviously from a sporting point of view and now df etc I naturally hope we stuff you though in January ;)

Good banter on here, sensible forum and fans! Quite refreshing actually!

Our new manager?? He's on the list that's for sure. lol, have a great day!

If you (Crystal Palace) do get Mick 'Mick' McCarthy, I for one will be very very intrigued as to the outcome. As to who goes up this season, at the moment I think both Palace and Bolton will be battling for play-off positions at best.

surely Mick can have any of the jobs he wants - he just has to say the word.... it's just that he didn't really fancy Bolton... he could have though - if he'd wanted to... honest!

I don't think he walked in through the front door though Bish. And we didn't provide safe sanctuary for his kids (has he got any?). And he's after it for all the wrong reasons [money]. So he wasn't right for the job, wrong fit.

Dougie Freedman has four children and moved to us for security as he had little with CP.

...plus following on from a man who is currently the best manager he's ever been, it was just too much, and he doesnt use front doors, cos he's irish .

Whilst McCarthy was my preference, you can see why they want someone like Freedman who is a proponent of bringing your youth players through the system.

That sort of plan is what we need to be doing.

I can understand that they probably thought someone like McCarthy might bring instant success, but put that plan of developing our own players back a bit, as he's more of a traditional, use experience type.

I'm sort of torn because part of me is pleased they are looking long term, the other part is slightly frustrated that we can't have someone with that promotion experience.

Got to say though, that Eddie probably was scared off taking Mick and spending a bit of money on what could possibly be "short term success".

It kind of makes sense that Freedman emerged as our first, and ultimately only choice. I really hope it works out.
