SKD and diving

Post by mrpiccollo » Mon Oct 29, 2012 2:27 pm

Ok at the weekend we saw quite a few bookings for diving notably torres getting redcarded for diving and it made me think about out kev, sadly he does go down easily far too easily alot of the time and while he gains us the odd freekick its often waved away as a dive of some sort by the ref but now they are becoming much more serious about diving is this the final nail for kev?

i think yes

lets hope ngog and sordell can make a solid frontline :P

As far as I'm aware, it's a very rare occurrence for SKD to be booked for diving. Yes, he sometimes might go down too easily, but people have been banging out about "Kev's final hour" for about 3 years now, and he's still going, still a crucial part of our team, and at this level, still scoring goals. How about we get behind him, eh?

On saturday he got booked for a foul which the boro player made a meal out of. But the weirdest was he turned and skinned a player on the left touchline and got pulled for a foul! Unbelievable!

Kevs one of the most experienced professionals in the game.

If he feels he isn't getting anything from the ref's on the few opportunities he flops then I trust he will stop doing it, especially if it results in him being yellow carded. Can't agree he's doing it as much as you say he is and given the recwnt form of the side in general SKD as a player is the least of my worries. His performance against Bristol was something else!

Might be better to concentrate on defensive fouling instead.

Davies is that slow that if he dived 25 minutes into a game. it'd be half time before he hit the ground.

It's not, I'm afraid. The past couple of years he's looking for fouls & hits the ground pretty easily.

Not Diouf or Campo easily, but way more than once upon a time.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Usually when he actually does get fouled, he doesn't get anything

He's started going down looking for stuff more, but none of it is really what you'd call 'diving'. More exaggeration of contact. I don't like it, and it isn't very 'SKD', but he isn't going to start getting booked for it.

Davies doesn't move fast enough to dive.

Business as usual I see. Maybe you should call it S.K.Y diving.
