Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Talked a lot about transition of the ball when we attack and defend and how that's where a lot of our problems lie, not necessarily in the back four.
He actually seems to have some substance behind him. Its not just empty sentiment.
Or it appears thusly.
He believes we need to get Sordell on the pitch as he is a goalscorer at this level. Needs a structure in place to achieve that.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Generally impressed by what he said, shares the view with most of us that they the feck Sordell hasn't been playing, seems hungry and ready to go. COYW

Except he didn't actually say that, or anything like that.Relentless09 wrote:shares the view with most of us that they the feck Sordell hasn't been playing

Basically, some thick as pigshit Bolton fans rang in and asked him stupid questions which he answered well.officer_dibble wrote:Can someone bung a link to.a transcript or repeat up who is itk...id like to listen but just got in
Oh and some guy called Dan had a half decent question.......

But basically he was pretty impressive and actually seemed to have some knowledge behind it.
Time will tell of course. But I like what I heard.
Especially about putting a structure in place that allows young players to come into the side without immediately struggling under pressure.
And about how he likes to relate to players, and how modern day footballers dont react well to old school bellowing, but that you need to take a more subtle man management approach to maximise performance.

Re: Dougie Freedman - New Manager
Thought he came across very well. He sounded a bit like Bruce Rioch in his views and expectations. I actually like the fact that he didn't see managing us as the extent of his ambitions. That suggests he expects to be successful here. No one asked him about what targets he'd been set for this season, or whether he'd been given a decent transfer budget, but then again most of the callers i heard seemed to be struggling to string a coherent sentence together.
