The navigator or officer of the watch pilots (Navigates) the ship. The helmsman/coxswain turning the wheel, steers the ship. I was a pilot, but I generally "Flew" the aeroplane not piloted it.Worthy4England wrote:Bowing to your nauticalness here, I thought you piloted a ship?Gravedigger wrote:When oi was in the navy, the adopted ship of Bolton was HMS Dido and Farnworth Sea Cadets was first TS Emerald and then TS Fife so we've had quite a connection with the RN over the years, and the Army too, part of the Loyal Regiment being based at the drill hall in Farnworth after their return from Korea. Oh, and you do steer a ship. Driving is deffo landlubberish gay.

And if Coyle goes to Blackpool after Holloway they want talking about.

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

I was trying to stay aboard all the ship puns, but this one totally set me adrift... (Are those even ship puns? Or do I just look like a complete jack hole now?)...thebish wrote:Little Green Man wrote:Does this mean he's going to try Ream?"I'm the driver of this ship," said Freedman.![]()
