Re: Cardiff City
Brilliant. I had a mare because West Ham were on in every pub down here, but that's made my day.

Re: Cardiff City
Wahooo! We beat the Welsh ManUre. The first half seemed the usual rag-bag of talent that was lacking a bit of belief/desire/structure/coaching (delete as applicable). Better second half. That's the N'Gog we want to see - shame we won't be doing so in the next match (never a booking for the first, stupid challenge for the second).
Re: Cardiff City
Anybody who thinks Ngog's goal was a deflection then look again! Quality backheel when the ball was going wide. Disallowed goal was quality aswell.

He's a funny one.Notakalou wrote:Can't believe what I'm seeing. Ngog is on fire.
He was electric for the first 25 minutes of the second half at Millwall, before Captain Clueless took him off, having been bobbins for the entire first half.
He's certainly capable of it.

IV always said ngog Will be fine. He's are new skd his hold up play was good and tbh he was winning more in the air than davo was and he also works his socks off. He's an absolute must starter in that formation
I said at the beginning of the season he'll get double figures and got blanked. I still think he will

Re: Cardiff City
Ngog reminded me of old Ivan today. Not only in his score a goal/get sent off cameo but that finish for the disallowed goal was very Klasnic-esque

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Cardiff City
Quality by NGog, man of the match, do exactly the same next match. Great win NGog made the difference for what it seems an was unlucky with the red. Mustve been good half time team talk

Agree.. Don't care if people think it was soft or Ngog was already going down as they are saying.. The Cardiff player kicked Ngog twice.

Re: Cardiff City
Ngog game changer. Looked confident to shoot at every opportunity, scored one, had one disallowed and brought out a couple of great saves. All in the space of 15 minutes. His first yellow was a baffling call, making his red seem harsh. But he has to be Motm for me, judging on impact made on the match.
And 5 minutes added time? For what, two goals and a few subs? Having a laugh surely, and then to go on an extra 6 and a half minutes!
COYW! Great result, back it up in a couple of days and I'll be much happier!

And if the rules were being strictly applied we had at least one fair claim in the first half.bobo the clown wrote:... & despite a national campaign building up about it, the penalty was a fecking penalty.ChrisC wrote:Anybody who thinks Ngog's goal was a deflection then look again! 3/4 the problem with N'gog is gotta be down to confidence. He got nothing at Liverpool, and it's doubtful Coyle built him a whole lot of confidence. The other 1/4 is that he seems to be patchy. Moments of blinding brilliance, and then shit tackles like he made to get sent off - you know you're on a yellow, opposite end of the pitch, save it for another match.
I'll buy your stock in N'gog. If only he could show up on Tuesday....
Onwards and upwards!!!

Re: Cardiff City
And Ngog's performance reminded me of Klasnic a few years back. Subbed on, scores a goal or two, then sent off. Makes me smile thinking back.

Re: Cardiff City
Watched the game on Sky and here are my thoughts on the players tonight:
Bogdan - Couldn't prevent the goal as his view was blocked by 2 players plus took a slight deflection, Punched at a cross when under no pressure at all and looks a little nervy.
Ricketts - Solid defensively but wasteful when going forward BUT would still have him in the team ahead of Mears without a doubt.
Mills - Defensively sound but too many aimless punts up field.
Knight - Dominant in the air and looked very good defensively, probably our best defender on the night.
Warnock - Good going forward and made some crunching tackles, dealt with Noone very well although should have blocked the shot for their goal.
Andrews - A surprise inclusion but justified his selection with a committed display, looked comfortable on the ball.
Pratley - Couldn't believe my eyes when i saw him on the starting 11, didn't really do alot to impress me.
M. Davies - Very good on the ball, effective drives forward with the ball, nice one two passing and didn't stop running. It was his run which effectively led to our second goal, arguably our best player on the night.
Eagles - Once again didn't stop running, a little quiet for his usual self but played well.
Lee - A little quiet going forward but tracked back very well.
K. Davies - Won his headers but no one really getting on the end of his little flicks. Committed to the cause as usual.
Petrov - Showed his class with some quality crosses and vision, took his penalty well and unlucky not to score at the end.
Ngog - Wow just wow, looks a completely different player, took his goal well with a cheeky flick and was robbed of another (which was clearly onside!!!) Got sent off for a needless second challenge though BUT he did change the game for us.
Ream - Came on towards the end and did what was needed.
Overall first half was poor but second half was amazing, if we play like that for a full 90 mins then we will beat anyone. Dougie was very intelligent with his substitutions and brought on players at the right time, players looked committed and it was a strong effort from all.
Bring on the Foxes on tuesday night!

Everyone's saying Noone's shot was deflected. Who'd it come off, Knight or Warnock? For my life I can't tell...
