Instead of the players just wandering back on, one of the coaches (I couldn't tell who) put out markers and had the players doing a series of short shuttle runs. I dont know if this is a good warm up technique or not, but it was a change from the usual and shows Dougie is paying attention to every little detail.

First time in a long while I've felt like a manager has watched our previous outing(s) and looked at our defensive problems and made changes to make us more solid. Stop shipping goals and we'll go far.

Aye - we normally only get a point for scoring two goals. Today we got three.officer_dibble wrote:First time in a long while I've felt like a manager has watched our previous outing(s) and looked at our defensive problems and made changes to make us more solid. Stop shipping goals and we'll go far.

Well, returning Knight .... whatever he'd done to piss JP off ... and realising that Ricketts was a better bet than Mears was a great start.
Shirley N'gog made a bid fo KD's place (albeit not for Tuesday now) and Petrov for a wing start with Eagles centre & a bit deeper & we're more or less there.
Just the Andrews/Pratley for Spearing to sort out now.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

He's already said he believes in squad and chopping and changing things around. So expect different team on Tuesday and then Saturday.bobo the clown wrote:Well, returning Knight .... whatever he'd done to piss JP off ... and realising that Ricketts was a better bet than Mears was a great start.

Think I'm gonna trust his judgment, whatever team he may or may not pick.

Well, shirley he's also realised that pairing Andrews and Pratley in central mid makes for a pub side.

Congrats yesterday!
df is a fitness freak, hence what you saw yesterday. If a player is not 100% fit, he won't play.
Good luck with the rest of the campaign, see you in January

Cheers, Fella. You too. Interesting angle on fitness because one thing that was obvious under Coyle was how unfit the players were.CPFC4EVA wrote:Congrats yesterday!

So, given the choice, would you have swapped Freedman for Holloway?

That happened at HT of the Bristol City game, at home.

It's just occurred to me. Had their goalie scored rather than whacking it into Ginger's chops, then on the last two occasions in which N'Gog's scored, their goalie would have scored as well.bobo the clown wrote:I can't believe that is correct.
N'Gog scoring ?

I'm worried that one day I'll forget something vital, like how to breathe, just so that I can create cerebral space for a stat like that / a line from The Simpsons etc.thebish wrote:that would have been a cracking stat!! respect!!!!Bruce Rioja wrote:It's just occurred to me. My cerebral space is mostly taken up with lines and quotes from The Simpsons......the bad thing about that is correcting people on Twitter when they get them wrongBruce Rioja wrote:I'm worried that one day I'll forget something vital, like how to breathe, just so that I can create cerebral space for a stat like that / a line from The Simpsons etc.thebish wrote:that would have been a cracking stat!! respect!!!!Bruce Rioja wrote:It's just occurred to me. Point I made on here earlier in the season, but the usual experts said it was nonsense. They can argue with Doog about it now!“When you play in the Premier League you get more time on the ball,” said Freedman.
“There has been a bit of a hangover from last season. In the Premier League, there is more tactical stuff and time on the ball, whereas, in the Championship, teams level themselves out because of work rate and intensity of closing down.
“I have had experience of this division for a couple of years, and I stressed to the players that this is the level and intensity they needs to play at every time.”
