Where Are They Now? Leam Richardson
Never threatening to barge into the pantheon, but maybe worth mentioning that our old boy Leam Richardson has been named manager of Accrington Stanley.
A 5'9" right-back, Leam joined us from Blackburn in July 2000 for £50k (eeh, that used to buy you a Philliskirk) and played eight matches for us that August and September, returning for another seven toward the end of the season but not appearing in the play-offs. Although he played for us once in the Premiership – replacing Bo Hansen for the last eight minutes of a 0-0 at his hometown club Leeds - he was soon off for lengthy loans at Notts County and then Blackpool. The Seasiders signed him in 2003 and he made more than 50 appearances but was released in 2005.
Accrington, then a Conference side, picked him up – initially on non-contract terms, but he ended up making around 150 appearances for them and was made caretaker manager in January 2012 when longterm gaffer Jonno Coleman moved to Rochdale. Paul Cook got the job but when he switched to Chesterfield last month, Leam impressed enough to take the caretaker's coat off. Good luck to him.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Must admit I don't remember him playing 15 matches for us. I only remember seeing him in the reserves.

Re: Where Are They Now? Leam Richardson
Given how well I remember him (and there are plenty that I don't) I'd have had him down as having played 50 games or so
Good luck, Leam.

Good luck, Leam.

Aye, I thought he'd played more.
How old is he? Can't be much older than 30?!

32 I think. If memory serves me right we signed him from Blackburn along with Ryan Baldacino?!Prufrock wrote:Aye, I thought he'd played more.

Random BWFC players of 1998-2003 would possibly be one of my specialist subjects on Mastermind.Prufrock wrote:I thought I was good at remembering random players we signed that people then forgot! Wow.

I want to know Jason Lydiate is up to these days. Or Andy Roscoe, who was said to be as good as MacAteer for a wee while (didn't he captain our reserves for a bit?).
