So you're suggesting replacing Chungy with somebody we've never seen (hardly heard of till this week) ?Ianmooreslovechild wrote:or cyl. Sordell doesn't exist, and if Davo is shit then they haven't yet invented a word for how bad Afobe is.
4-5-1 for me.
Boggers
Ricketts-Mills-Knight-Warnock
-------Andrews---Spearing
Lee----------Mavies----Eagles
------------Wash.
Won't be though. Same as last two games with maybe N'Gog for Davo and Butterfield for Pratz.
For me,same back 4 then
...............Spearing Andrews
CYL/Butterfield................Petrov
....................Eagles/Mavis
..........................Ngog/KD

Re: Blackpool
We certainly can't win each game 3-2 but even in closer games, such as Millwall away, we simply haven't had the required firepower to claim victory.TANGODANCER wrote: Leaking goals every game might just have as much to do with that as our strikers. Even hinting KD is responsible for that is way off the mark. If he gets picked it's because the manager thinks he should. When he doesn't, he won't. That simple.

Re: Blackpool
Not necessarily,it's either /or. It's quite likely that Butterfield has come in to push chungy or replace him short term. He's not been at his best since the injury. More likely that Butterfield will start on the bench though.I note in one of the previews a quote about tired bodies following 2 physical games so it does seem less likely to be the same starting 11.TANGODANCER wrote:So you're suggesting replacing Chungy with somebody we've never seen (hardly heard of till this week) ?Ianmooreslovechild wrote:or cyl. That was my initial reaction, but he said 'effective'.BWFC_Insane wrote:Not in a million billion years IMO.Harry Genshaw wrote:Nail on head.Prufrock wrote: but he has been the best of our four strikers, bar one 20 minute cameo, by so far as to be untrue this season. Do I think he had a good game against Leicester? No. Which of our strikers do you think has performed better than Davo over this season as a whole?
I dont get some folk. He has 1 poor game and he's supposedly finished. When he's playing well and scoring, he's the weak link that causes us to play hoof ball.
Funny how opposition managers and fans are always bemoaning him when they've just been beat.
Is he mobile, pacey & prolific? No. He never was. However, he's still as effective as he ever was imo.
At his best he was the second best target man in the premiership, only behind Drogba IMO.
He's a long long long way away from that now.
At his best Davo had a three/four year spell where only Terry, Ferdinand and Woodgate got close to coping with him. No matter how you cut it, he isn't that effective anymore; but, I think this year, given he's what he is up against, he has been as effective as he has been for three or four years.

Re: Blackpool
I'm predicting 2 2 and a bit of a thriller once the first one goes in,although predicting results against Blackpool is a bit of a lottery. Theyve won one in 5(against poor sheff wed away) but have a new manager plus home advantage. I'd start with Ngog simply because blackpool usually have big lumbering centre halves and Ngogs greater pace/mobility is more likely to cause problems than KDs ability in the air and strength. If Ngog plays there is less of a need for pratley helping to close down up top,I also think that would encourage Bpool to keep their shape whereas we should be tryiing to encourage them to come forward so we can break on them and exploit the space and their lack of pace.Butterfield shouldnt start(he's probably not 90 min match fit anyway, but he is an exciting prospect from what I've read)
So a flexible 451/433 system with the fullbacks providing width and plenty mobility from CYL/Ngog/Eagles,Mavis picking up and moving it from deep,Spearing and andrews breaking up play in our half, lots of attacking options on the bench without the need to ruin the shape.Well that's my theory anyway....
Ricketts...Mills....Knight...Warnock
......Spearing..........Andrews
.................Mavis
.......CYL................Eagles

Re: Blackpool
I think that's the team we'll see. Perhaps Petrov in for Chungy and Eagles down the right.

Possible though I always think petrov is far better coming on as a sub. Best thing about playing pick a team at the moment is the back 4 picks itself.boltonboris wrote:I think that's the team we'll see. Perhaps Petrov in for Chungy and Eagles down the right.

Are they saying we've not won at Bloomfield Road since 1977, or that we've not won at Bloomfield Road in the second tier since 1977?BBC preview wrote:It's 35 years since Bolton last picked up maximum points at Bloomfield Road, courtesy of a 2-0 victory in December 1977, at this same league level.

we badly need these 3 points today, hopefully that sea air can wake our squad up a bit!

Aye, the overpowering smells of fish and chips, hotdogs, hamburgers and candy floss should do it nicely.NiceHotCuppaTea wrote:

Re: Blackpool
I like the 3 changes, Ngog for Davies, Petrov for Chungy, and Spearing for Pratley.
It shows he's not afraid to mix the team up a bit, and will put a team out for specific matches.
