Where are they now. Pedersen and Toddy

His goal against Arsenal (the volley) was brilliant. But technically, he was gash.....

That Arsenal goal was the world's best ever toe-bop.

Just remembered, does anyone remember that time he booted it into john terry to beat chelsea? Or is my memory playing tricks again...

Yeah, he did the fullback (skill-less? C'mon!) then put it across the face of goal for Terry to get the winner. For us.

Pedersen might not have been the most skillful player, but I remember him as a great team player - hard working, lots of running and pressing, willing to play out of position for best part of a season, never gave up. And even though the goals may have been a bit more scarce than might have been expected, there were some crackers among them!

Indeed.

'Pedersen was loved, Gavin McCann was not.' Discuss.

Speak for yer'sen... big fan of the badger myself, not a right winger, but did a job for us... We're crying out for a badger and have been for ages.

Is he still coaching at the club?

Also not certain Pedersen was loved, plenty of sighs when ever he spurned a chance, or got mentioned as the starting striker when he played. Thing is people love him now as they are harking back to the glory days....

He did at the time as well, "bloody Pedersen" being an oft-used phrase of the time.

Scored a beaut of a volley in a 4-2 win at Leeds as well.

I don't recall McCann ever getting any abuse.

I do recall Pedersen getting some, and Nicky Hunt getting plenty. And Kevin Nolan getting quite a bit.

In fact, considering how limited McCann was, he got off very lightly.

He got 9 in 2004/2005 starting with a double in the opening day thrashing of Charlton. I've a sneaky feeling he was joint top scorer that year.

Ah, so he was - with Diouf and SKD.

9? Would that make him 2nd to Ricketts in the most goals in a top division season, since Worthy?

Or did Noaln/Davies beat that?

Nolan got 12 the season before.

I think Davies, Anelka and Elmander all got 10 or more.

Davies, Nolan, Taylor and Pedersen are our top four all-time Premier League scorers. Odd when you think how shit they all apparently are/were.

LK simply said that the badger was limited - he was - that's not necessarily a criticism - it's just acknowledging that he had little pace and wasn't a bloke that would beat a man. Plenty of players (like the badger) are limited - but play a hugely important part in the team. I don't see what there is in that to spark your incandescent response!

also - I think the fans had turned on Megson at the time they might have (unfairly) barracked the badger - so if the badger was played out on the wing and looked a bit lost - it was Megson who got the stick for playing him there.

He said he 'got off lightly'. Suggesting that he should have been 'abused more'. It's the notion that abusing your own players in the ground is 'fair game'. It's not.

Anyhow he had a good premiership career McCann and this 'limited' stuff is a bit silly. You always need a player or two like McCann in the team. They are no more limited at what they do than supposed flair players are in their defensive duties.

FWIW - I don't think LK said anything like that at all.

Perhaps you could explain what he meant by the phrase 'got off lightly' then. Can't see how it means owt other than McCann deserved more abuse than he got?
