Some people are getting a bit soft now a days just tell 'um to do one and then ignore the knobs!
Online Scandals of any sort seem to be the new 'church' for yoof and the self important do gooders and I think the worlds turning soft with indignation and this encourages the morons to be abusive. Just tell them to do one you ain't interested and they'll soon get bored.

You don't think something like that should be left to the authorities to deal with?

The authorites should deal with it aye, but for the player to just pass it quietly? Nah, fvck that.. Out the prick and let him get dogs abuse from the player and everybody else who thinks (rightly) that it's a proper c*ntish thing to do.

If somebody said something to you that massively insulted you, wether that be through the internet or in the street, would you quietly walk along and then tell somebody about it when you got home? Because I wouldn't.

The problem is that said wanker has done it for attention. "Outing the prick" gives him exactly what he was looking for.

Report it behind the scenes and move on, said nobhead gets a visit from the old bill and hopefully learns his lesson.

I don't understand what purpose twitter serves at all.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

It's a bit like why the police never closed Wood Street club down. They always knew where to find all the knobheads.

I have to say that although I'm not known for navigating the cutting edge of Information Technology, I've outdone myself on this one as I don't even know what twitter is. What's its medium? do you get it on computers, playstations, televisions, phones, or do you need a special tweeting device? (a birdie?).
[By the way - that's all rhetorical - I don't bloody well want to know, and I shirley don't want to hijack Worthy's better class of transfer thread]

It's basically celebrity stalking for the digital age, except the celebrities like it cos it makes them feel important whilst knowing that some deranged Ukranian librarian isnt rifling through their bins for used or discarded underwear, but instead sending them messages online telling them how much they like their new hairstyle.

I'm not sure either. I don't really know the history of it, but was it always intended as the "celeb wittering" platform its now become?

I'll admit I read the odd timeline that allows it as a non twitter member. Usually ones connected with Bolton Wanderers.

I can kind of see the speed of information it can deliver is really useful. I can also see its massive potential as a marketing and advertising tool.

My brother is on it, and uses it to contact the sky helpteam when his tv/broadband ceases to work. And gets a reply pretty instantly apparently. So thats a good point of it I guess.

But I don't really see why its so popular, what the average person on the street could possibly tweet that would interest anyone and also why anyone cares what some z list celebrity may or may not put on there.

I sort of get facebook as a way of connecting communities of friends etc.....

Nah I dont get twitter either. Just another symptom of a society that seems to think the accidentally famous have something they need to hear.I'd feel feel a bit compromised signing up to follow someone, isnt it a bit sycophantic. What a wierd idea. My partner seems to like it. Follows people she considers witty.

some people may use it as a celebrity stalking device, but thats not what it means to me. I follow around 340 accounts, there's maybe 5 of them who you might class as 'celebrity' mostly bwfc players.

I use it for news and information thats channelled to my personal interests and needs; i get the latest bwfc gossip, football in general, film updates, betting odds, new music releases, articles, gaming news, activities / events happening locally, jokes, funnies, mountain biking info, ski reports, etc etc specific to me, and i keep in touch with a load of people on there, plus a few extras that are just entertaining to follow – all in one easy to use, easy to read news feed.

Cant see folks problem with it tbh.

With General here...

Just because 'celebrities' use twitter, doesn't mean everybody else engages with them.. I follow a couple of Bolton players and some parody accounts that are funny.

Otherwise, I use it for BWFC updates, match threads and opinions etc.. It's easier to use and much more up to the minute than a forum like this, which can go without a post of a couple of hours.. That's unheard of on twitter, so whenver I'm bored and I want to catch up on what's happening, I'll go on.

Like others have said, I don't see the problem. Other than a bunch of fossils pretending they've got better things to do than socially interact. "Oooh.. No, I don't like new things"

Our squad does need reducing from 335 though, don't you think ??

If you're relying on Twitter for 'social interaction', you need to get out more.

People in glasshouses shouldn't throw stones.

I know some people who go on a Bolton Wanderers forum to post messages about football and other things. They have posted litrally thousands of comments to people who they don't even know. How sad is that!
