As I got ready for work Local Radio SnoozeFM was playing The Kinks (ask your dad) song 'Lola'. Everytime I hear this song I think back to when David Ginola signed for Newcastle. There was a story that ran for a couple of days on 5Live and GruntSport about how the Geordies had 'already worked a song out for the player' based on the 70's gender confusion hit.

Except they didn't and they couldn't becuase it doesn't fit. Try it.

If the BBC we're prepared to fall for and regurgitate this tosh then it's no wonder they're in the mess they are today.

Not every player deserves a song, not every song deserves a player. I always tell the kids 'Just because you CAN do something doesn't necessarily mean that you HAVE to.'

I wish someone would tell Heston Blumenthal that too.
That song was the big thing in Austria in 1998, covered by the Natural Born Hippies.

That is a truly horrible version of the song. IMO.

It seems perfectly straight-forward to me.
It's an entry in to the most non sequiturs in two lines competition.
I'm not quite sure how one wears blackburn, mind.

Yeah it's usually a 16 year old lad that's had one too many pints, i.e. one pint.

They did the same with the Ryo Miyaichi chant last season. Why they seem to repeat it over and over on their own I'll never know.
