Would that be the "direct style" that is referred to by the media and supporters of other clubs as "long-ball" or "hoofing" when employed by Bolton?blurred wrote: I think part of the problem is that when Crouch comes on people moan and bitch if the team reverts to a direct style

God's country! God's county!
God's town! God's team!!
How can we fail?
COME ON YOU WHITES!!

Naturally - when employed by 'better' players it changes from hoofing to direct. Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham etc don't hoof the ballZulus! Oh, and I'll sit here and wait for a new batch of comments as he made it, what, 17 on the trot today without a goal?
Oh, and just as a side comment (might as well keep it all in this one thread), are Liverpool still having a shite start to the season, folks? Seems only about 2 weeks ago that we were being derided for being bottom half and having the 'worst start to the Premiership ever' and all that. Now it appears that we are 7th, have had 6 clean sheets on the bounce (2 euro and 4 league) which basically means we haven't conceded in a month and all things seem tickety-boo...

I see what you're saying, but obviously it's not the fact that we're 7th that pleases me, it's that we've found some consistent footie, and barring one aberration away to Fulham and a somewhat fortuitous Chelsea visit to Anfield (we still deserved to lose, but not to be mauled 4-1) we've actually had a decent start to the season and are vastly improved on last year's efforts both in terms of matches against respective opponents and points garnered after an equal number of games. Plus we're looking more solid doing it and when (;)) we win our game in hand we'll be fourth only 1 point behind Arsenal and two behind the Mancs. That, after our 'worst ever start to the Premiership' seems alright to me... Amazing what effect the media can have on people, anyone would think we were performing like the blueshite across the park rather than we have been...Zulus! Is anyone seeing a connection to Bolton here? WE had an aberration to Fulham a somewhat fortuitous trip to Chelsea (not deserving of 5-1) we've had a decent start and are looking more solid. Its wierd..blurred wrote: it's that we've found some consistent footie, and barring one aberration away to Fulham and a somewhat fortuitous Chelsea visit to Anfield (we still deserved to lose, but not to be mauled 4-1) we've actually had a decent start to the season and are vastly improved on last year's efforts both in terms of matches against respective opponents and points garnered after an equal number of games. Now here we go, not really contributed to Crouch before in a positive way. BUT.
He is not crap, he does not suck. He played a good game last night, winning lots in the air. Holding up play, introducing other players and was directly responsible for one goal. He will get on the score sheet and he is not totally useless.
He is over-priced and no doubt over paid now. So for this, Yes I will lay of Crouch. For now.

feck me, a non Liverpool fan in some way recognising that Crouch is a lump of shit. Praise the Lord!plodder wrote: He is not crap, he does not suck. Seriously though, I didn't see the game on Wednesday (was in the psychiatric wing of a local hospital, and no, not for myself) but heard that he had another reasonable game from people who saw it/were there/general media.
And you know what? If he carries on playing as he is, and we carry on playing as we are, I couldn't give a rats ass if he doesn't score all season. The team is working, that's 5 on the bounce in the league and we've not conceded a goal in any of them. Granted they aren't against the best teams in the league, but the second best defensive record in the division all season must count for something.
Am tempted to do an article about the big lump, but it would only be decried on here anyway.

Rubbish Blurred, Articles from supporters of other clubs is what TW has been missing. If you make a thread named 'oh just lay of Crouch will you' on Banter then that’s how people will react, with Banter. Write your article and submit it to Ratbert via PM and he will publish it on the Trotter forum. I think you would be surprised at the difference in response.blurred wrote:feck me, a non Liverpool fan in some way recognising that Crouch is a lump of shit. I've already submitted one article to the powers that be today, another would be something of overkillSoldier_Of_The_White_Army wrote:Rubbish Blurred, Articles from supporters of other clubs is what TW has been missing. I shan't be doing articles and pieces overtly about Liverpool, this is a Bolton site after all; I shall leave that to the fora to defend my men in red and keep the banter going with you chaps. The one I have done is a general footie one, anyway

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.
