Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I had a contretemps with House of Fraser about this a few months ago, after paying for express delivery.
I receive a text at 8.30 the next morning saying "your order has despatched".
I then received a text at 8.31 saying "due to unforseen circumstances....etc your parcel will not be delivered til tomorrow".
Gets on the phone to House of Fraser, who after an 18 minute conversation knock the price of delivery off and a 10% discount.
Still fuming at 9 o'clock the same day, seeing as I'm not off the following day, the parcel arrives.
Bellends.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
In Montreal the official language is French. We also have parking spots reserved for residents at certain times - they pay to get a sticker that gives their sector number. The parking signs (only in French) will say reserved for 'Secteur #' between such and such times. At other times anyone can park there. So I parked next to a sign that said it was reserved for sector parking 'entre 9.00 a 3.00'. Since this was 7.30 at night I thought no problem. I had a ticket when I came back and complained vociferously. What I had forgotten was that the bloody French are on a 24 hour clock and there was no parking from 9 in the morning until 3.00 am the following morning. An expensive lesson in bilingualism.

So, allowing for missing "not" out, a fat bxstard gave you a kick on the shins to trip you up and stop you catching a train. What happened next?bwfcdan94 wrote:ran to get a train, would have got it had some fat bastard given me a full on kick in the shins in an attempt to trip me over stayed on me feet though so not all bad

The Sky On-Demand wireless router.
I admire it's aesthetics, it's distinct lights at the front, its wonderfully bright green Ethernet cable which matches the decor in any home, the speed with which it was dispatched - all great.
Just the minor issue that after some moderate networking changes, taking a moderate few hours, the plug and play ness of it still meant that whilst connected to my router, it still can't get to connect to it's own service. Still I got rather further that the Sky engineer with it...
Refund letter in preparation. Now if only Apple did Sky routers, I'm sure this would all be solved, in about the same amount of time as it took Apple to invent an OS that actually worked with anything that wasn't err Apple.

I had the misfortune of seeing him live a few years ago. This was well before he got a slot on R4 otherwise I'd have given him a wide berth. Needless to say he was unbelievably shoite.thebish wrote:Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show

How it gets aired ... AND multiple series too - 7 (that's SEVEN, not a typo either) so far ... is beyond belief.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show is embarrassingly bad. Haven't heard the latter though. Caught the tail end of something that Jack Dee was hosting earlier on in the week which was absolutely piss funny (or at least the tail end of it was anyway). Any idea what it was called, Bish?thebish wrote:R4 is churning out some utter, utter shoite in its 6;30pm comedy slot...

Yes, someone that considered a scruffy old bloke sliding downhill in a bathtub with no brakes to be absolutely hilarious.Little Green Man wrote:Last Of The Summer Wine got 31 series - that was utter wank too.
