Re: Financial Results
Although it would make it a more sellable asset but another 100 million added to that 120 million ? Of debt to Eddie adds up to over 200 million and I doubt he would get any where near that from someone wanting to buy the club

Re: Financial Results
The land and stadium would only be worth anything to anyone other than BWFC if you knocked it down.
Lord knows what they're doing, but aside from some Oligarch in need of a good laundering scheme, I have no idea how they could fatten us up for an appealing sale to anyone with a modicum of business sense

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Because their colours are Blue and White I guess!! Do United fans do their posts in red??Prufrock wrote:Right, this is all well and good, and interesting and everything; but, surely the main thing we are all wondering is: why the feck does Rovers F.C. type everything in blue?!
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED
Re: Financial Results
Should Eddie "fall under a bus" and his executor call in the loan we go the way of Portsmouth I'm afraid. Not a very good position to be in as I can't see anyone paying that much to buy us.

Seeing as you've no idea of what Eddie will specify should happen on his death, its nowt to worry aboutFaninOz wrote:Should Eddie "fall under a bus" and his executor call in the loan we go the way of Portsmouth I'm afraid. Re: Financial Results
Whatever does or doesn't happen to Eddie the notice period for recalling the loan is now 10 years.
So its not like we'd be fecked immediately in any case.

Re: Financial Results
My view is that there's little chance Eddie Davies would leave the club in a bad way, either one way (selling it) or another (after what becomes us all)

My hope is that ED wants to leave a lasting legacy for the club and town. In many years to come, I would like to tell my grandchildren that the magnificent buildings and successful club were a present from Uncle Eddie!

Well ask him, ffs !!
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

How a rational, successful businessman can throw a huge wedge like that into a financial sucking chest wound goes to show you the power of the round ball. How this club ever got this lucky buggers belief. Where would we be without him?

Re: Financial Results
Not owing him £120m?
Thats a very chicken and egg argument, and, might I venture has a touch of living the dream about it.
If we still owe that money when he's gone, then the short answer to that question will be "massively in debt".

And what if as is being suggested, he converts to equity as Abramovich has done at Chelsea?Lord Kangana wrote:Not owing him £120m?
