In fairness we already have 4 strikers failing to compete for the one spot up top.thebish wrote:anyway - all this talk of strikers is bollox... according to the BN - Doogie wants to bring in another midfielder before tomorrow's deadline.. cos - well - we're a bit short...

All signs point to a busy week for the new boss, who is scouring for one more loan signing to add to his squad before tomorrow evening’s deadline.
Following the arrival of Jacob Butterfield from Norwich City a fortnight ago, the Scot looks set to bolster his midfield once again before this weekend’s trip to Brighton.

Now personally of the four areas if anywhere needs bolstering I would have said midfield would be bottom of my rankings.
Defenders
Forwards
Goalkeeper
Midfield
would be my bolstering shopping list.

Not really transfer news as such but more an indication that Dougie has plans for Mavies:

Gregg Wylde has gone on loan to the Bucket Shakers for a month according to GMR.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Bury and Tranmere? Have they had their vaccinations?

He was the saviour.
The authorities messing us about over using him was the reason we went down ffs.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Sordell and whylde have to be the crowning glory on the wonder that was Owen Coyles transfer strategy. Players he signed but was so embarrassed by his misjudgement that he never even played them.bobo the clown wrote:Nooooooo !Leyther_Matt wrote:Gregg Wylde has gone on loan to the Bucket Shakers for a month according to GMR.

Could Alonso fill the "beast" spot as a defensive mid?

Speaking of embarrassing Coyle signings - I saw Tim Ream in Tesco t'other night. Now, I still believe this lad could come good for us but what surprised me was his lack of stature for a centre half. Usually pro footballers appear right big beggars when you see em. Years ago I bumped into Glen Keeley who was a huge beast of a man. Admittedly he was a shocking centre half, so perhaps that's a good sign

From what I've seen of Ream, with that logic, you might be adding 2 + 2 and not emerging in the vicinity of 4.Harry Genshaw wrote:Speaking of embarrassing Coyle signings - I saw Tim Ream in Tesco t'other night. Well thats my theory as is the ream fullback theory but it's more a case of saying where might this player be useful rather than this guy would be exceptional here.TANGODANCER wrote:Could Alonso fill the "beast" spot as a defensive mid?
