Now, I still believe this lad could come good for us but what surprised me was his lack of stature for a centre half. Usually pro footballers appear right big beggars when you see em. Years ago I bumped into Glen Keeley who was a huge beast of a man. Admittedly he was a shocking centre half, so perhaps that's a good sign 8)
From what I've seen of Ream, with that logic, you might be adding 2 + 2 and not emerging in the vicinity of 4.
Yup :D

It will be one hell of a legacy Coyle leaves us with; if Sordell, Ream & Alonso at a combined cost of £8m make less than 30 appearances between them :whack:

Ream at fullback I can actually see. I do think there is a footballer in there with that one...but for a defender his positional sense and arial ability are frightening.

The deadline passed yesterday so I think you can remove the question mark!

I just wondered if I'd missed something that the rest of the world and my aunty knew about. It quite often is the case: news seems to avoid me. My missus calls me a news chicane. But in this case no news is no news.

Michael Owen? at Bolton. Did we need another goalkeeper?

Manchester City are hoping to offload Swedish striker John Guidetti on loan to Bolton in January as he recovers from a mystery virus that threatened to ruin his career this summer.

The 20-year-old was struck down with food poisoning after eating contaminated chicken prior to Euro 2012 and the illness attacked his central nervous system, leaving his right leg paralysed after a phenomenal loan spell with Feyenoord last season.

However, Guidetti has impressed City's medical staff after doing gym work in recent weeks and the club will assess whether he will be fit enough to go out on loan in the New Year to continue his rehabilitation.

Speaking about his recovery in October, Guidetti said: "It's going well - I can run, I can shoot, I can pass, so I am definitely getting there, but we have to be a bit more patient and of course I want to get out there every day, it's what I long for."

The young forward is highly thought of at City and was rewarded with a three-year contract renewal in October amid reported interest from a number of high-profile clubs including QPR and Bayern Munich.

Bolton have been highlighted by City as the ideal club for Guidetti to ease his way back in to first-team contention, with Dedryck Boyata and Vladimir Weiss having previously moved to the Reebok on a temporary basis from the Etihad Stadium.

Guidetti scored 20 goals in 23 games during his loan spell in Rotterdam last term, and was widely tipped as the ideal partner for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Sweden's Euro 2012 squad before coming down with the illness in April.

Feyenoord had attempted to renew the Swede's loan during the summer, but Roberto Mancini was keen to test the youngster in England and Guidetti has made clear that he wants regular first-team football to continue his development.

Guidetti was excellent in the couple of times I saw him for Feyenoord. He is a genuine goalscorer, which is what we need. I mentioned him last season as a possible future loan signing, so I'd be very pleased if we got him.

At least he'll avoid Nando's I guess.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I thought John Guidetti was one of city's better youth players ? Certainly better than the last two players we got from there.

Fun fact: John Guidetti played exactly the same amount of games at the same age for the same club (Feyenoord) as a young Robin Van Persie, he scored over twice as many goals as Robin did. If you want another sturridge maybe he's the right place to look.
