CYL stropped off down the tunnel

Re: CYL stropped off down the tunnel
I didn't see him 'strop off, walk off, trudge off'
Fact was, he wasn't required on the pitch and he was probably wet throughg
He may even think he should be playing - I've seen nothing this season to support his view
But, why is it necessary to make a crisis out of things that are unimportant
If he did 'strop off'
So what, he's disappointed, cold and wet
But, for clarification, if he hasn't turned up this morning busting a gut, then theres a problem

Re: CYL stropped off down the tunnel
I'm still not convinced that Mark Davies adds 6M quids worth of player to the team. Not even sure he adds half that if I'm honest.50sQuiff wrote:You are Owen Coyle and I claim my...Wandering Willy wrote:You can add "organised" to the list of football related bullshittery.
Anyone saying "CYL stropped off, let's get rid, we only want committed players" are falling into the classic trap of rejecting a player and his style because he doesn't suit their working class aesthetic. We're shite and half the people on the forum wanted to ship out Mark Davies. Now Davies is out from under a cloud it's time to "get shut" of Lee. Give it up! Getting maximum performance out of our best players should be at the forefront of our plans.
Nobody wants to get rid of our "best players". But based on this season would Lee be classed in that bracket? Not for me.
Personally I'd not be selling him, and if I were DF I'd be working to try and get the best performances out of him. However, he has to improve if he wants to demand a place.

It's started. A whole team full of massive, athletic, defensively minded footballers who can strangle the life out of a game from minute 1, this time next year. I can't wait.

Just to clarify this, you're saying that you're not saying any of that.Wandering Willy wrote:For clarification I'm not saying any of that.

What I expect is something between your picture and what Coyle was serving upboltonboris wrote:It's started. A whole team full of massive, athletic, defensively minded footballers who can strangle the life out of a game from minute 1, this time next year. I can't wait.
I'll take that

I think so.

Just finding it difficult to get excited about him. He's better than Coyle, I've no doubt. I also think he'll do well for us (results wise).. But I'm not going to kid myself like a lot here are, that's it's going to be anything better than absolutely dreadful to watch on the most part.

In the short term I'm sure the dreadful bit will be true, medium term, I expect conservative, long term, "I also think he'll do well for us", in a more attractive way.boltonboris wrote:Just finding it difficult to get excited about him. At least for as long as he sticks around.

I couldn't care less about attractive football. I'm happy if we get results. A win is a win, no matter how it's achieved. Points win prizes, etc.

See I know football has changed to become a "results business", but call me old fashioned... I'd rather enjoy the product that I'm spending my money on. I couldn't give a feck in the grand scheme of things whether we're great or shit. As long as we still have a club I'm happy to leave the glory aspect and instead, find solace in the fact that I get to see a decent game of football.

Surely its more enjoyable when we're doing well though?boltonboris wrote:See I know football has changed to become a "results business", but call me old fashioned... West Ham fans love Allardyce since he got them results.
I think we'd happily watch boring football if we were riding high.
Fact is we didn't see much "good football" under our previous and supposedly "attacking" manager.

An open game with chances at both ends is a damn sight better than that Leicester game.
But I agree in the sense that everything is better when you win, but as I said, my love of the game outweighs my desire to see us win at any cost. We've seen the highs (as high as we're ever going to get) so I'm happy to just enjoy the game now.

Maybe apathy is taking over me... That's bad.

Re: CYL stropped off down the tunnel
That's a sentiment I share wholeheartedly. Unfortunately for those seeking to earn a living from the game, it's only acceptable if your team regularly scores more goals than the other lot. In large part I suggest, because if they don't, chaps like us get all shitty about it.boltonboris wrote:An open game with chances at both ends is a damn sight better than that Leicester game.
Vive la beautiful game! Though even Barcelona have a half decent defence.
Re: CYL stropped off down the tunnel
Around marriage, house and kids, my awaydays, which is by far the best supporting experience, were massively curtailed - similar stage in life to where you are now, I think
I'm back on it and sad as it is, I could be watching us play like Brazil every week, scoring 6 goals and not enjoy my day out as I do now
3 or 4 cracking mates playing out
Can't beat it
I just wouldn't spend 30 quid to watch a game of football without the social
However, I don't think I've been a massive fan of football since teenage years - No BWFC, no football, for me
