Tractor Boys - the Barry Knight Testimonial Match

Post by bobo the clown » Sun Nov 25, 2012 11:42 am

I've never, ever, in all my years started one of these. Now I'm immortal I thought I would.

I know we have Jackburn in between ... so I can be reasonably sure no-one will beat me to the chase.

How many bookings, how many sendings off. Will Barry Knight attend ? Will Paul Warhurst make an appearance ? Will Freddie Bobic ?

Would my old mucker, Horwich lad, Bolton fan & Ipswich hero, Paul Mariner do the half-time draw ?

Nigel Reo-Coker is injured, which is either
a). A good thing, as he's a good, hard, determined player who would tear our limp wristed midfield a new one
b). A real shame, as he's rubbish (delete as appropriate)

Mick McCarthy will be at the Reebok
a). Showing us what we missed.
b). Overseeing another shambolic display from the Tractor Boys. 0-6 the other week wasn't it ?

Will we be nursing a hang-over from Ewok Park .... or in full flow after a great win ?

Will we have the faintest clue what Dougie is up to with his selection ?

So many questions, so many .... so many.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

b
b
we'll be 4 up at half time
draw 4-4 which will precipitate an Ipswich revival that will see them finish the season going up via the play offs and create a McCarthy mania on this forum

We'll probably have a hard game and win by the odd goal.

They've taken as many points as we have from the last 5 games. In fact you could say that they are making 'slow but steady progress'.

Yeah - so still more points than Coyle took from his last 5 games - so good all round then eh?

Only spoiled and deluded Premier League fans would be so arrogant as to expect us to actually win a game at some point. We'll take a point at Blackburn and a point here, that'll be seven unbeaten for the first time since [x] and a great platform to build on.

Born & bred, top end of Longworth Road, Horwich. Played with 'the gang' I did, though 3 years older, joined him at Old Rivs when I was a mere 15. He moved on to Chorley & was ... amazingly to us, signed on by Plymouth.

He was a Whites fan & wrote & phoned for a trial & never got an answer. While at Plymouth he managed to score for them AND an o.g for us. He said the one for us was a proud moment !! (a good deal later, to be fair).

Regardless of where he is from, he is a coach in Canada now - with good old Toronto. It's a bit surprising he never heard back from us since he was of international quality.
