CYL stropped off down the tunnel

At his best he would have. I don't think he'll get back to it but we've got to try...
Out of interest, when specifically would you say he was at his best?

When Elmander was at his best

Skilled footballers, capable of giving and receiving quick passes

Holden was in there, too

Probably Wolves, away

I'd probably go along with that. I do like him as a player and he's good to watch at his best, but I can't remember a time (or even a game) where I'd consider him to have been particularly devastating. Certainly not enough to make me think he could've ever single-handedly ripped this division to shreds.

For me, he's a player that needs good players around him, rather than a Tom Ince/Wilfried Zaha where you just chuck them the ball and let them run at people.

Who did? Elmander? Cos I certainly remember Elmander absolutely destroying Collocini that day!

CYL upset to be subbed. GOOD. CYL showing his frustration while he walks down the tunnel. GOOD. It's not exactly its an overly public display of dissent against the manager, it could be frustration against how he's played or how the team is going. It just shows he cares. For me I'd rather have him complaining and trying than not being fussed.

Hopefully he'll be putting that sort of care into getting his fitness levels up and hopefully the rest of the squad will be doing the same. I'm sure Freedman's determination to pick players that are really trying to improve their fitness will pay dividends in the long run as the rest of the squad will be getting fitter as a result of it. It's not going to happen overnight and i'm sure players and fans will understand this.

Freedman may or may not be the right man to take us forward but i'll be happy providing we're addressing the slide and making conscious efforts to improve both the science side of BWFC and the sporting/scouting side. All too often have we employed managers that have focused on getting the team to play a certain way or to a certain style of football (Lee's gung-ho style, Megson's defend as much as we can and Coyle's relax and play style), i'll be happy with a manager who isn't too focused on a certain style but is interested in the minor improvements. If we can get just 5% extra fitness, confidence, morale, signings etc. it will be better.

CYL is a good talented player but we're not going to improve the squad by getting rid of our skillful players and bringing in the ones with good workrate, it has to be a mixture of both.

He's had a full pre season and when started this season has hardly ripped up trees. He's had the odd moment but not exactly been great.

In the system we are playing its fairly normal to put a striker out wide, I mean Allardyce did it for 10 years.....

Dougie has said at length he believes in using his squad and swapping people around.

I think that's fair enough. Nobody barring Knight and Eagles can say they deserve or can even expect a place in our team this season!

CYL is a great link player but never a winger. His game does depend on the quality of those around him. He'd fit in pretty well in a team playing arsenal style. Looked great during our one touch purple patch and he is a sharp intelligent player but our current team doesnt really have the quality to make the best of what cyl has to offer.
Whether he should stay or not depends to a large degree on the style of football DF has to use with the players at his disposal. One great touch player with no one to play off is pretty pointless. If as seems possible we are looking to get tight and play on the break pacy direct players would fit better than cyl in which case he would be better off moving on. It may also be why he has been trying Afobe and Ngog out wide.

With Mavies missing leave Eagles out wide and let Chungy play in the hole. He's quick to react, and can tackle without kami-kaze stuff and might just get the goal or two we need. He has the feet to come in and beat a man and it might just work.
