Re: Tractor Boys - the Barry Knight Testimonial Match
We should, on clear chances, have been three up at HT.
We were dreadful second half - but that wouldn't have mattered.
4-4-2 should be abandoned forthwith.
Davies (K) was better than Ngog the whole game and should not have been subbed.
LCY has forgotten how play football.
Sordell must be incredibly, hugely shite if he can't press for a place even on the bench.

F*cking bollocks
one step forwards two back
Everything is consistently inconsistent at the moment. Team selection wise dougie seems to think this is pre season...why the f*ck marcus alonso plays is beyond me. performance wise we lurch from shit to good...
we're here for a while yet chaps...and yes its owen who took us here and is the root of our problems. To have zero points today tho is piss poor.

Well they had a penalty and a two yard tap in after another Bogdan fcuk up, so Kev definitely didn't miss the best chance of the game.CAPSLOCK wrote:He missed the best chance of the game

What are folk even on about? I'm assuming the cut back to him in the second half that he side footed rather than blasting which nevertheless brought a good save from their keeper? Or the one from the edge of the box just wide in the first half? Or the back post header straight at their keeper. It's an odd point I'm making coz he didn't score any of them, but he came close. Where the feck was N'Gog? There was a point in the second half where Spearing broke from midfield, there was a maaaaaaaassive gap between their centre halves, and we had Lee in space wide left. N'Gog didn't move. He didn't make the wrong run, he just stood still. Afobe is shite. Folk make very valid criticisms of Kev, and you can certainly argue that if he is still our best striker and biggest goal threat up front that we are f*cked. Fact is he is our best striker, and biggest goal threat up front. And it isn't even close. That last half an hour with N'Gog and Afobe up top so bad it was laughable.
Spearing had a shocker today, but he's a good 'un. Andrews had a good game despite being booed by the nowt-between-the-ears lot, but to suggest his passing is better than Spearing's is laughable. Usually.
Again though, if Chris has a bad day, we look knackered.
PS. Alonso is still, surprisingly, shite.

I was after flogging Davo for free + piggy back about 4 years ago.
Then we signed Klasnic and I thought, that was that. Goalscorer. But wrong work ethic - all he thinks he was employed for was to score - which he did with regularity.
Now we still have Davo, backed up by a generally useless N'gog, can't make the bench Sordell and must play a few games or we'll charge you Afobe.
I'm still happy to replace Davo, but I don't see anyone in the current team that's going to do that, or offer a really viable alternative any time soon. That includes, Mr "I'm here to set up 50 goals a season N'gog".
feck me some folk must still be reading Roy of the Rovers.

When questioned about Sordell on Tower FM, John McGinlay said something along the lines of "you only get out what you put in".William the White wrote:

I presume meaning that he's crap in training.

Re: Tractor Boys - the Barry Knight Testimonial Match
Simple fact is that, after a good away win, this was a chance to put 2 together, 'climb' to 10th & enter December with a view to being on the play-off fringe by New Year.
Instead, we blow it.
The new manager, whilst better than the old, is clearly not the messiah and his tinkering isn't helping. The players look more organised but, as already stated, we have defenders who can't defend & attackers who can't attack.
We are omly consistent in our lack of consistency and it's obvious now that we will struggle to get to 6th by year end & so it's likely to be 2 terms in this division and fck knows what follows that.
I utterly blame Coyle & all who sailed in him. While Megson was uninspiring & confrontational, Coyle dismantled the legacy on his half-arsed theories and belief that players can sort themselves out. I think I actually loathe him now that I'm understanding just how badly he ran the place.
Freedman will improve this but slowly & not necessarily enough.
Meanwhile fans bicker & get bored.
"I am depressed".
Raked the leaves up, in my anger tho. So all's not lost.

I can't believe that there are still some on here who can't, or won't, make the connection between the inconsistency in team selection and inconsistent performances. There isn't one other team in the Championship who make wholesale changes like we do, week in, week out. Blaming the previous manager is a cop-out. Mick McCarthy inherited far more problems than Freedman and he's already got Ipswich moving in the right direction.

You really need to get your head out of your arse and take a look at some of the drivel you are posting.
Regardless of how Dougie Freedman is doing you cannot keep this continuous defence of a failed person. You're beginning to make yourself look like a real tard.

Re: Tractor Boys - the Barry Knight Testimonial Match
Reminds me of a manager we had a while back...this coyle guy who seemed to randomise his team selections. I'm sure we shipped a load more goals under him though. I also recall his transfer policy being a bit random as well...receiving cash for a centre half and signing a no mark striker he never played for instance.plymouth wanderer wrote:BL3 wrote:I can't believe that there are still some on here who can't, or won't, make the connection between the inconsistency in team selection and inconsistent performances. I've not been on much recently. BL3, what's the story? Do you think Coyle did a good job?

Re: Tractor Boys - the Barry Knight Testimonial Match
Very true ,it's almost as bizarre as someone believing a bunch of mediocre disorganised players with 2 years of mismanagement and failure behind them should suddently become successful and organised within 2 months of a new manager coming in and should now be sailing happily toward top spot. Tinkering may not be helping but at the end of the day until he can do some trading DF has got to work with a squad which isnt actually all that good.BL3 wrote:I can't believe that there are still some on here who can't, or won't, make the connection between the inconsistency in team selection and inconsistent performances. Better tell Mick McCarthy then, he obviously hasn't read the rules.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:it's almost as bizarre as someone believing a bunch of mediocre disorganised players with 2 years of mismanagement and failure behind them should suddently become successful and organised within 2 months of a new manager coming in
