I suspect you're getting the general idea of "time travel" mixed up with the more specific backwards time travel. History cannot prove that forwards time travel isn't possible...

also - it is possible that we would not know about it if people traveled backwards in time - because they might be arriving in a parallel universe - and we are living in the "original" one that existed before (or after) they started dicking about with the timeline... it is possible that the Lost Leopard Spot in several parallel universes has encountered these backwards time travelers - and it's only the original timeline Lost Leopard Spot (you!) who hasn't...

Also, you will see that I have removed your welsh extra "l" from "travellers" to make the English word "travelers" ;-)
My gast is flabbered. Travellers is not Welsh, travellers is, how my dictionary puts it, chiefly British. It's acceptable, it's not Americainish. Travelers is some modern fandango version that is ugly to the ear. Plus the full nuance of disdain is not possible if an angry person spits out "they're from the Traveler community", the extra l is needed to fully load the word with venom.
As for your argument viz time travel, that's just silly. If there was more than just one Lost Leopard Spot I'd know about it. And the llaws* of physics states (explicitly with no humming or ahing about it) that the conservation of summat requires that if something can go forwards it can equaly* go backwards.

hmmm... in chess - a pawn cannot go backwards... therefore existeth it not?? eh??

A pawn can go backwards - it is just not a legal move. LLS was talking about the llaws of physics not the laws of chess.

Monty has answered as I would have if I had not been tardy. The llaws of physics are adamant about this, I think.

was he!! a law is a law - and so both are legal or illegal...

anyway - LLS's objection is bunk - because the "Law" he is referring to is dependent upon actual spatial movement... the word "travel" in time travel does not convey "movement" in the same terms - it need not indicate any "movement" at all - and the words "backwards" and "forwards" used to convey the idea of "direction" in time travel are merely metaphorical - and so this Law of Conservation is categorically redundant and (indeed) irrelevant.

anyway - this forum itself proves that time travel is possible.

not that long ago, Crazy Horse will have a crazy day traveling back in time - and altering peoples' posts as they typed them - with hilarious consequences!

Time is distance. Distance is time. Without one one cannot have t'other. They are mutually dependent. And those diagram thingys that show elementary particles reacting demonstrate that time and distance at subatomic levels are the same thing.

Even such esteemed sources as Wikipedia say such

No no no no. The laws of physics allows it, but the laws of chess say no.

moreover.. we have incontrovertable and 100% nailed-on reliable photographic evidence of time travelers..

Image

The reopening of the South Fork Bridge in the early 1940s in Gold Bridge, B.C., Canada.

and...

Image

Andrew D. Basiago, who allegedly took part in DARPA’s top secret government operation Project Pegasus back in the 1970s.
The photograph was taken during one of Basiago’s temporal trips, during which he found himself at Gettysburg on the very day of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, November 19, 1863.

he writes: “I am the boy standing in the foreground of the image at center-left, looking to his right. My shoes were lost in the transit through the quantum plenum that took me from the plasma confinement chamber at the time lab in East Hanover, NJ in 1972 to Gettysburg, PA on the day that Abraham Lincoln gave his famous address there in 1863.”

I think that's pretty conclusive..

but if you are still unconvinced...

be astounded by the woman making a call on her mobile phone in a photograph taken at the premier of Chaplin's film, The Circus" at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in 1928...

the laws of chess allow time travel - just not for all classes of society! Bishops (it seems) can time travel - but not straight back - they have to go diagonally back... and Horsemen have to go by a very tortuous route...

Is that what drove him Crazy?

Anyway I'm proper angry now
Chancellor George Osborne scraps a planned 3p rise in fuel duty
So that's 3 pence a litre I'm going to save in future that I'm not actually paying now.
If we had proper time travel he'd have gone back in time and not promised to raise it the first place...

I never have, and never will change anyone's posts for hilarious effect.

Actually that's a lie. I did once change a post by SOTWA's army mate No Shxt Sherlock in which he'd mistyped the word column as collum. For a laugh I changed it to say Gollum.
tbh, it really isn't all that funny so I never bothered again.

Unless time has gone backwards and I'm living in a parallel universe I seem to recall the episode of the dirty filthy red which would say otherwise Mr Horse.

Ahh, I see what you're getting at.
I didn't change anyone's posts, but just added OGS to the swear filter so it read Ole Gunnar Solskjær the dirty filthy red instead.

Poor BWFCi just typed in OGS, the site automatically changed it for him and I sat back laughing.

I think Lord Kangana was the only one who actually got what was going on. I guess that makes him & me the two most intelligent posters on here. Or something.
