And we're now the highest placed of all the relegated teams. Oh, and higher than Burnley. :-)

Rather have no fans than those types.

Sadly they won't. They were booing after 20 mins because we were poor.
Expectations too high, remember we alledgedly have the best squad and we'll p-ss this league !!!!!!!!!!!!

Great result, never mind the performance. If we can get a few more of those confidence will increase and then, I do believe, the performances will come.

Poor performance. Great result. The next 3 games will decide our season. Peterborough (23rd) Sheff Weds (24th) and B'ham (19th). It's got to be 7 points from those 3 games. Sh!t or bust!

Bear in mind Charlton were on a seven-match unbeaten run and haven't lost away from home since mid-September. A good result.

Peterborough won away at league leaders Cardiff today

Fingers crossed, but this league's as mad as a box of frogs. Next up is Peterborough who, as Armchair noted, just hauled themselves off the bottom by winning away at table-toppers Cardiff.

As I've already said a number of times. A point away from home in this division is a good one. I'd happily take a point away at P'boro next week. 6 points from our 2 home games will see us in touching distance of the top 6 come Jan.

I think we just ended a great away result spell from the Addicks. Allowing they might be a decent side and today, not much went right for us, that ended up a real good result. N'gog isn't a ninety minute man, but he can, and does make a difference.

I'm not a boo-er, but the impression I got was that people were booing CYL going off rather than N'Gog or Petrov coming on. Must admit I thought CYL looked our liveliest player up until that point and I'd certainly have considered Eagles to go off initially rather than CYL.

Credit to Freedman for changing the system a little bit to push N'Gog a bit further forward than where Butterfield had been playing and there's no doubting at all that it changed the game. I've long since been saying that there is a player in N'Gog somewhere and he's shown it again today; it's now just a case of giving him the chance to build from it and string some form together.

Must mention we did have a couple of lucky escapes, mind. I was in North Lower and so had a cracking view of Haynes' sitter in the first half.

It was such an awful game for the first 70 minutes, easily up there with the worst I've ever seen. I was counting the minutes down as to when I could go home.

Luckily the Ngog sub sparked it into life a little, this is the most annoying thing we have these glimpses of play where we smash teams so we're capable of doing it so why the bloody hell can't we do it with more consistency in every game?

It's no coincidence that Knight and Ricketts were our centre halves and we kept a clean sheet, I hope it stays that way, maybe until Wheater comes back who can compete for a place but the other two jokers we have in that position, they can go for all I care.

Listening to the wireless & heard Freedmn say that the fans have just seen the sort of performance he's looking for & (more or less) we'd better get used to it.

Clearly there's a determination to play 'keep-ball' and I do understand the benefit of that however it needs 2 things ; -
a). that pass>>pass>>pass>>pass>>pass>>pass must not then be followed by 'miss-pass'
b). that pass>>pass>>pass>>pass>>pass>>pass must be followed by 'incisive defence-splitting pass' eventually.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Oh no doubt, Dougie will be fecking delighted with it. I'm happy with the win and the clean sheet don't get me wrong, but there's no way I could hack watching performances like that every week. His tactics seem to be:

1) Sap the life out of the opposition by making it as dull and uninspiring as possible
2) Bring on a sub who will change the game and end up getting the win in the last 15 minutes

Yes it has a chance of working and yes it may prove to be successful but I have to say, and I thought I'd never ever be saying this, regardless of result if we have to sit through that every week I won't be renewing my season ticket next season. It's painful.

To the booers. Don't bother coming again, you really peed me off today. To the guy behind me shouting come on dumpy (!?) to Butterfield when he came over to take a corner....erm what?

Mears had a cracking game today I thought. Few confidence issues at times but the majority of the lads are lacking it at the mo. Booing isn't going to help. I really can't understand people who go and then boo. Get behind your team ffs.

Delighted with the win but knickers well and truly in a twist about the booing.

You don't get there overnight.

In fact it could take a long time.

However, at least he is changing how we play which was very much needed. May be a painful transition, but better than the lack of any sort of shape and pattern we had before.

Frankly if I was him I'd be saying the same thing. Some of our fans need to wise up and realise we got rid of the shite and back the new boss and the players. The is no get out of jail free card. We let Coyle dismantle 11 years of work. And there are no guarantees that can be rebuilt.

But we might as well let Freedman have a proper go.

And stop fecking booing every mistake or dull 20 minutes or whatever. It's just embarrassing.

Anybody in the North Lower? You may well have seen/heard a lad stand up and tell the half-time booers to "feck off and support United" if they don't like the game. That was me.

Young fans want the tippy-tappy flicks and stepovers. Older fans want the big hoof and into the mixer. Our fans lack the mental subtlety to realise that football is based on keeping the ball - if they don't have it, they can't score. Booing at half time when it's 0-0 and they haven't had a chance - that's abysmally stupid. The fcukwits who booed - explain yourselves.

As I've said before, I couldn't give a shit about performances, as long as we win. We won, so I'm happy. But not with the morons who populate the 'Bok simply to boo when we're not hammering the opposition every second.

Long since given over being wound up by some of the empty yeds who watch us.

Was a pretty dismal first half, but only in terms of entertainment and all part of the bigger picture of how Freedman approaches games. If it results in more wins as the players get used to the system then I don't think anyone can grumble really.

Who appointed you cheerleader-in-chief? What makes you, or anyone else, think that they have the right to tell people who've paid their hard-earned money, how they should, or shouldn't behave?

I don't believe in booing either the team or the manager but if you don't like it, maybe it's you who should "feck off and support United".

Not sure you're right there. I suppose it depends on your age definitions.

I'm an 'old fan' & I crave for something like the style employed by Rioch & Todd before he blew it.

I long for the Armfield & Greaves way.

I aspire to the class players of BFSA's reign.

I don't want the big hoof & into the mixer.

However I suspect you were barely walking in the Rioch era.

I didn't boo. I welcome an attempt at discipline. But keep-ball is only any use if it has an end product.
