To be fair W4E I think it's hard to make a case that given an even number of games that Davies would score more than NGog.........

Some nice twisting and turning

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
Re: Wanderers v Charlton
I really disagree but hey, that's what these forums are for! I don't need the tea ladies and everyone else cheering me on to perform, no. If the tea ladies and everyone else were booing you whilst you were at work though, would that give you any confidence?Hoboh wrote:Errrm the way we've been playing at times we'd be losing in an empty stadium. If someone was chanting shite like that to me I'd just think what's the point. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have even heard it and even if he did you'd hope he would rise above it but I'm not sure it's giving a great impression of the fans to a loanee we could potentially want to sign.Gail Platz wrote:He is quite dumpy though.89bwfc89 wrote:To the booers. PS it wasn't me saying that... although I did refer to him as a 'smaller fatter looking version of Chris Eagles' to my mate who came along and hasn't seen him before.
I don't think anything is meant by comments like that really, I don't think Butterfield had a good game today but generally he's been pretty good and I'm sure most fans agree on that.
Hoboh - just to pick up on the point you made about fans worrying about booing rather than what's going on on the pitch, in my view, I think the two have a direct correlation which is what worrys me/angered me enough to post my little rant! The fans have to do their bit once they step into the Reebok on match day, otherwise, what's the point?
Whether we like it or not, the lads are only human and whether it's right or not a negative crowd will affect them. I have so much passion for BWFC and just can't get my head around why any "fan" would want to do anything on a match day that could knock the lads. Surely the whole point of football SUPPORTERS is to do just that. Support.

I think it's not just that there is booing. It happens in football, reflection of modern day society and all....
It's the fact that folk are booing at nowt. We've lost one in 8 or is it 9? They boo.
We keep the ball? They boo.
We go long? They boo.
They boo cos Petrov isn't on the field.
They boo when Petrov comes on.
Just pathetic.

I work in a job where i am constantly scrutinised by management and the public and let me tell you this if i make a mistake and its noticed by either not only do i not perform as well as i usually would but if they critique me or i feel undermined by my management (something you can see is obviously been going on for years at bolton) i underperform my tasks, i know this happens but its impossible to avoid nerves are hard as hell to deal with regardles who you are you can still be suceptable to the boos and jeers. this is why i hate the boo boys and wish people would just get behind the team fulltime not just when were winning.89bwfc89 wrote:I really disagree but hey, that's what these forums are for! can you imagine ,,, perhaps we would have players looking forward to the match and wanting to win for the fans
oh and its bull to act like money should make the difference were all human at the end of the day.
great to see ngog scoring, ive said since he signed he deserves more starts (as does sordell) but we will see and heres hoping we really put a run together over this christmas period as the "strongest squad in the league" we are often heralded as we should be able to take advantage of the busy shedule and rack up a few points im certain ^^

Booing doesn't make it sense, if people boo because of the performance, continuously booing throughout the match won't improve the performance

But the two goals yesterday were things of skill and beauty... It is howlingly frustrating to see such skill allowed out of its dark kennel only two or three times a season... Ten or twelve times a season, on the other hand... One game in four... Is this too much to hope for?
So far, yes, but...
Anyway, the first half yesterday was dull but we were mostly in control against unambitious opposition. the second half not much better. Ngog changed everything - so well done on the subs - and toad stew for those who booed!
Re: Wanderers v Charlton
Neither would you want the Tea Lady stood behind you booing when 'you moved your pen in the wrong manner' or 'didn't type an email faster'?Hoboh wrote:Errrm the way we've been playing at times we'd be losing in an empty stadium. Heat and kitchen spring to mind, people could spit at me for 90mins for the money they get then I'd wipe it off with a £50 note, laugh and think losers89bwfc89 wrote:This.mrpiccollo wrote:I work in a job where i am constantly scrutinised by management and the public and let me tell you this if i make a mistake and its noticed by either not only do i not perform as well as i usually would but if they critique me or i feel undermined by my management (something you can see is obviously been going on for years at bolton) i underperform my tasks, i know this happens but its impossible to avoid nerves are hard as hell to deal with regardles who you are you can still be suceptable to the boos and jeers. this is why i hate the boo boys and wish people would just get behind the team fulltime not just when were winning.

Re: Wanderers v Charlton
If you can see what they're trying to do, why criticise them for a patient build up. This is our style now. Other teams get lauded for it. We're getting criticised. By our own. A sideways pass is more effective than a forward lump. We were trying to force the passes particularly for the 20 minutes between the break. It wasn't working, so we just keep tapping away. I like what I saw.ChrisC wrote:Only just back in.. most has already been said. Boring game with to many silly mistakes. The booing is a feckin joke! what must the players and Dougie think of the fans? We need to wake up and smell the coffee! we are not going to bulldoze every team in this league. 1 loss in 8 and we boo our team.. fantastic! Fans need to get behind the team now and be patient whilst Dougie is working on things and changing our style etc.. he didn't put us in this mess so why boo the guy when he has only been here 2 minutes and is doing a decent job in turning us in the right direction IMO.
We lacked a cutting edge today, it was sideways pass after sideways pass. We was crying out for someone like N'gog to come on and be strong on the ball and turn them inside out and actually get at there defence. The annoying thing for me was that every time we got it out wide we played it back inside and just messed things up.. nobody wanted to have a crack at goal and just turned around and passed it back or sideways or gave it away.
We are a much better organised and look more solid as a team now and I can see what Dougie is trying to do but these things take time and come January with a few additions I think we will make the playoffs. The next few games are against struggling sides and hopefully we can push on now.
One last thing, according to our announcer David Ngeeo scored twice today! as if he doesn't know how to pronounce Ngog's name
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"
