I went in today to pick mine up and asked the question...they said they are still waiting to hear back from Peterborough. I guess we'll be sat near each other Dartisan!

Re: Peterborough away
Without wanting to sound all billy big bollocks, this is genuinely a game we should be winning.
The bottom club in the division with one of the smallest budgets. I know they had a great result at Cardiff, but they're bottom for a reason. Anything less than 3 points here isn't good enough.
We need to start getting back to back wins. This is the perfect opportunity to do it.

Re: Peterborough away
As I've said on a previous thread (I think it was the one that went to rat shit) this should be the second consecutive threee pointer out of a run of four games. I stick by that.boltonboris wrote:Without wanting to sound all billy big bollocks, this is genuinely a game we should be winning.

Just out of interest don't know how many people remember Freddie Hill who played for Bolton (1957-1969) He later played for Peterborough (1973-1975) In February 2010 he was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Could do with someone like him now, brilliant passer of the ball.

I agree. 12 points should be the target and shouldn't be out of the question.
10 points should probably be the minimum requirement now.

Last time I saw him, good few years back, he was working at Franny's paper mill up Eagley way. I saw him play a lot and he was a big favourite at Burnden. Oh. Don't hold your breath then. The season before last I was driving up from London and thought 'Yeay, I can go to Wolves away on my way home.' Rang BWFC to see if I could pay on the gate? They said "We're a bunch of wankers and have no idea; Ring Wolves". Wolves said "We've no idea how many seats are left in the away end as BWFC's ticket office is staffed by wankers and they haven't told us how many tickets they've sold. As such, you can't pay on the gate. Ring Bolton".89bwfc89 wrote:I went in today to pick mine up and asked the question...they said they are still waiting to hear back from Peterborough. Re: Peterborough away
Freddy Hill was a fantastic player. Really skillful inside forward, tremendous control and ten goals a season on offer. Had a great swan song as a calm and creative midfielder for Man City. Though he did play like he had a sincere belief that football should be a non-contact sport.TANGODANCER wrote:Last time I saw him, good few years back, he was working at Franny's paper mill up Eagley way. Was he the last Bolton player to be capped for England until Michael Ricketts? a gap of about 40 years?
Re: Peterborough away
As a young lad I remember his "party piece" was taking the ball to the dead ball line around the edge of the penalty area, dribbling along the line and then slipping it into the net between goalkeeper and post. Saw him do it several times - also saw him try it a few times too many when it didn't come off and the "old folk" (probably in their twenties) moaning about him being greedy.

You've missed someone. Freddie Hill was capped in 1962...John Byrom was capped 34 times between 62 and 69. scored 18 goals.Worthy4England wrote:Yes and Yes.William the White wrote:Freddy Hill was a fantastic player. Bet he was disappointed at missing the 66 World Cup with a scoring record like that...Midnite wrote:You've missed someone. Quite possibly! I'm gonna check on the day whether there's any chance of switching to terraces though.89bwfc89 wrote:I went in today to pick mine up and asked the question...they said they are still waiting to hear back from Peterborough. I guess we'll be sat near each other Dartisan!

I went to the shop again on my dinner, they said it is possible it will be pay on the gate for the terrace, they're still waiting to hear from Peterborough, but you have to have your seated tickets back there by 2pm Fri if you want a refund. I'm going to nip in again tomorrow and if no news, Fri as well so will keep you updated if it helps at all.Dartisan wrote:Quite possibly! Re: Peterborough away
Cheers. I'll not be chuffed if terraced does become available & I can't switch on the day. My tickets coming by post, I've zero chance of getting back for a refund as it probably wont even arrive 'til tomorrow.89bwfc89 wrote:I went to the shop again on my dinner, they said it is possible it will be pay on the gate for the terrace, they're still waiting to hear from Peterborough, but you have to have your seated tickets back there by 2pm Fri if you want a refund. She said I could "see" if they will swap them when I get there so it does sound like it will be a possibility but don't take my word for it.Dartisan wrote:Cheers.
