personally think holdens not the player to sit in front of the midfield when he forms such a key part of it. No need to get rid of anyone from the midfield but I have a feeling mark davies might be packing his bags and I wouldnt really be bothered about pratley going if we were to extend the butterfield loan.

i do not think he will comeback even halve the player he was before. I hope I am wrong but we need to give him a couple of games before the end of January and if he is not up to it then sell him for loads to the highest bidder

So he comes back and he's rubbish. How many bids do you think we'll get for him?

if you havent noticed a very l;arge number of players live of their reputations for years after they have been any good I mean Zat Knight played for England FFS. I will name you some examples of players we have signed who were great two years before we signed them. Knight, Paul Robinson, Sam Ricketts,Sean Davis, Sordell etc etc

Dan, just to make things clear: Holden didn't injure himself and hasn't spent the time out of the game for fun. He's a very talented young footballer, under contract to us, who got his leg smashed in a bad tackle, and the sooner he's back, the better. Nobody knows how it will turn out and your ranting on different threads about selling him just makes you a laughing stock and fools nobody. Give it a rest.

Fckg hope so.

according to the lionofviennasuite.com:
Stuart Holden was supposed to make his long-awaited reserve return on December 17th in a reserve match between Bolton Wanderers and Bury. That reserves game was eventually postponed due to a waterlogged pitch not being playable. Well, Marc Iles has just confirmed that Stu Holden will have his reserve return next week.

Holden recently completed over an hour of play in a closed-door match against Wigan Athletic.

The match will take place at the County Ground in Leyland and will see Bolton Wanderers take on Oldham Athletic, Tom Eaves' former club, in a Manchester Senior Cup match. The match will kick off at 7pm and costs £3 for the general public while Bolton season ticket holders can get in for free.

Alongside Stuart Holden, Josh Vela is expected to make his return as well. The young central midfielder injured his knee just a few minutes into the Capital One Cup match against Crawley Town at the start of this season. He has been back in training recently and the signs are good.

Good to see his return is just around the corner. I'm really excited to have Holden back. The one plus to the injuries we have had is that we should have a fresh Davies, Holden, Vela and Wheater back for the second half of the season, so maybe we'll see an improvement when playing tired opposition. You'd obviously want these players fit for every game of the season, but it can certainly be an advantage to us to have fresh legs against players who have played 40 times in the season.

I'll be bricking myself every time someone makes a tackle on him. I hope they encase him in plenty of bubble wrap this time.
