He had another good performance yesterday, his goal(s) notwithstanding. Not the best I've seen him play this season, but after Pollitt decided to give him a helping hand he certainly cranked it up a notch and you could see it did the world of good for his confidence.
And as for winning the league? hmmm, just watch this space. Assuming we can get a result down at the Bridge, we'd only be 6 points behind them. Anyone saying the title is over (not just for us but United or Arsenal as well) is an absolute whopper and needs their eyes checked. It's all still up for grabs, and hopefully the odd addition in the window will give our squad a right boost. Nice to see a bench with the likes of Cissé, Riise and Hamann on it yesterday, with Zenden not even on the bench. Good stuff.

Oh and the title race was over in September. But race you for second

I don't think there is one big enough or smug enough to be honestplodder wrote:I was expecting a huge smug grin for this post![]()

And without sounding horribly defeatist, I'd take second place this season if you offered me it now. So long as the gap is reduced from what it was last season then that is progress, but I definitely don't think it's all over bar the shouting as most, if not all of the media seem to think.
You just watch us, we'll sneak up and nick it from them cockney c*nts by a point, winning in Paris as well to make it two on the bounce

Ah well, i left meself open for that sort of shot a week ago, but then I did that happy in the knowledge that we were on the up, and about to catch up with some of our games. Assuming we can win our game in hand, that leaves us only 9 behind Chelsea with more than half a season to go. No bother if you ask me.
Oh, and I've not really said this so far, but very good win for your chaps yesterday (well, 2 days ago now looking at the time). Not one that I expected to be honest, but well done all the same. Nice to know that you can still rumble the Arse from time to time. Can still remember Ljungberg sticking that one over the bar the other year!
Well done folks, anyway

That comment wasn't aimed at you specifically, more as a general missive to those who mocked him as he's now started to score a few.hisroyalgingerness wrote:don't get me wrong, i still don't rate him but i got that feeling
Oh, and another one yesterday, in case you didn't notice chaps... anyone changed their opinion yet, or is he still shit?

was watchin the hansen/lawro pundit machine look at why he's started to do well and fair play to rafa cos he's sorted out the positioning problems that was stopping him linking up with people and the goals have given him confidence but even so i'd still rather not see him travel to germany in the summer mindblurred wrote:That comment wasn't aimed at you specifically, more as a general missive to those who mocked him as he's now started to score a few.hisroyalgingerness wrote:don't get me wrong, i still don't rate him but i got that feeling

aye but banter aside we know he's not completely useless, today was one of his quieter games, major thanks to faye and jaidiblurred wrote:*comes in and waits around for the slagging to start, cos he was distinctly averagely poor today*
even so, a relief he didn't score

Was praying that he'd knock one in today, for that very reasonhisroyalgingerness wrote:aye but banter aside we know he's not completely useless, today was one of his quieter games, major thanks to faye and jaidi
even so, a relief he didn't scorethat would've been some serious backtracking

Jaidi did do a good job on him for a fair part, don't know quite why the ref waited until about the 80 odd'th minute to decide that it's actually against the laws for a defender to piggy back on him to win headers, but fair enough
