Fair enough, but bloody irritating when they 'owner' of that seat doesn't turn up for 10 min & then 30 min.
30 mins! May as well have not bothered!
There's 2 lads with season tickets near me and they only turn up in the stands for about 15 minutes and some games you don't even see them at all. They're there that infrequently that there's a couple of young lads that stand at their seats and when they do turn up they just squeeze in next to them and don't tell them to move! Very strange.

All I can assume is that they're at the bar all the time as they both seem like brainless wankers, throwing coins and stuff.

That was my lad's 4th home game (Plus Accies away) and he's still not seen 'em win, three draws and a loss.

On the way home he started a sentence that included the phrase '..if I was to choose a second team...' I gave him a glare that Paddington Bear would have been proud of and he trailed off.

No 'second' teams.

I had to explain to him that following the Supers isn't about 'fun' or 'enjoyment' or 'winning' it's about...erm....well it's about...erm...look, just shut up and read your comic.

I don't think Dougie appreciates how hard it is to keep your foot on the parental brainwashing pedal when the team are losing every week.

We'll be back down for the Burnley game.

I expect nothing more than a win or my brother's promise of a game at Old Trafford might be more appealing to this young innocent child.
I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

It'll do him good. Teach him patience, and make him appreciate the good times, when they come, and they will, who knows when, but they will, even more.

You only have to sit in certain parts of the ESL to see what happens to fans who have grown up a "bit spoiled", watching a team broadly performing well week in week out in the top flight.......

That last bit is bollocks.. The blokes near me who boo every misplaced pass and scream "FORWARD" whenever the defence have it are about 40 - 50 years old..

I wasn't really referring to them, but it would be interesting to know how long they've regularly attended Bolton games for.

One of them likes to say "I've been watching Bolton for 30 years and this is the worst set of spineless bastards I've ever seen" Etc etc

I was sat next to a guy going on and on and on about only making sideways passes, need to get it forward, etc etc. Drove me mad. And he sounded like he was from Wigan.

It's not a phenomenon exculsive to the ESL, you only have to listen to 606 and hear Chelsea, United and especially Arsenal fans demanding success for their teams.

By 'success' I mean the Champtions League title.

Nothing else matters.

'Ee's got to go, ee's lost the plot.'

No way can you tar all fans or age groups with the same brush though, can you? . What difference an eighteen year old who spends all his time making wxnker gestures and screaming abuse at the opposition fans or a forty/fifty year old who spends the match shouting bollox at his own team? There are plenty fans who do neither, that's football.

That last bit was just a jokey dig at pie eaters in general rather than where he lives and who he supports.

Oh, right. Sorry, I thought that's exactly what it was. Football fans have always behaved much the same for the last sixty years or so, as I can remember. Some mild, some normal, some extreme, all fans.

Hadn't noticed he was replying to another post. Sorry Boris, my error.
