Reserves v Oldham Manc Senior Cup

Post by Riviman » Mon Jan 07, 2013 8:11 pm

Looks like a return for Holden, Vella, Wheater and Sparky according to the Lion Of Vienna site:

http://www.lionofviennasuite.com/2013/1 ... n-tomorrow" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Wouldn't expect any of them pressing for a return to first team action for a couple of weeks at least but it's good to know that they are on their way back.

There was a suggestion that the game would be at the Reebok but no mention on the official site so it looks like a trip up to Leyland .

It doesn't look like Davies and Wheater will be returning tonight. Excited for Holden and Vela though, so fingers crossed everything goes well.

Blatantly nicked off Wanderersways.

Kent_White - Holden subbed on 65. Second half was passing him by a bit. Started off his usual self, eager, committed, making good decisions. Fairly quiet but feeling his way back. Someone behind me was saying when he went off he had ice on his knee straight away but I didn't see it.

Vela's had a good game. Looks strong. Sampson looks decent.

3-0 Eaves. Header from 6 yards out. Deserves it, been decent. Very strong and holds the ball up well.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

This article said:

Holden completed 70 minutes and looked comfortable on the field.

When Holden was involved in the play (which wasn't a huge amount), our man at the match, Chris Manning, described him as "running the show."

I appreciate the sentiment and idea of the Lion of Vienna site, I really do. But it's just a little...amateur :|

edit: I'm probably nitpicking, again it's better than nowt and I do appreciate the work.

Don't agree that Stue was "Man of the match", he did look class on, and off the ball( his positional sense) but for me Vela was the star of the midfield before he was subbed after about 80mins. Holden did a breif warm down when he came off then left for the dressing room with an ice pack round his knee, hopefully just a precaution.

Oh the whites won 3 0 goals from Sampson, Lester and Eaves, the two big lads up front, Eaves and Sampson were a real handful for the Oldham defence. A good game and very pleasing to see the return of our injured duo,

Team
Lynch, Maher,McQuade,Threlkeld,Dennis,Holden,Lester.Vela,Eaves, Sampson,Odelusi

Subs Mckee for Holden, Woodland for Vela

I have to give credit to the LOVS writers when they constantly churn out a few articles a day about BWFC, including many with opinion in them, at a time when the club is struggling.

Easy to lose enthusiasm as we've found here I guess. I know I have.

(Don't know if Mark Y is paid for it or what but still)
