Having been in a similar locality myself all week, I can recommend The French Horn in Sonning, for some decent dining.Bruce Rioja wrote:Correct-a-mundo, AT.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I don't think he cares Danbwfcdan94 wrote:are you talking about Bracknell, Whitley and SloughBruce Rioja wrote:It's the same as any other county. Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Arsonists. We are in the middle of a summer where fuel loads are high and the temperature hardly temperate and yet we have people lighting fires in the bush. These are deliberately lit, not some sort of accidental ignition. The last lot nabbed still had a jerrycan of inflammable liquid in their possession; it seems that prior to their apprehension they had lit no less than nine fires. It's not a new phenomenon but it still makes me quake with anger at times. Many, if not most, bushfires occur through natural causes and of those the vast majority are the result of lightning strikes.
I might be leaning Hoboh's way, but these criminals should be charged with attempted murder, attempted destruction of property and being stupid. The latter is probably not acceptable by the law, but . . .

if you have a s*** legal system - then surely the LAST thing you want is that same legal system to be able to use the death penalty...

I'm up for strong punishments tbh, but that's harsh.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

If you think Australia has problems, take a look at what's going on in the Czech Republic:2399 wrote:Yep, Australia has a S*** Legal System

A friend of mine emigrated there a year or so ago and he tells me that the whole country's in uproar about what's happening.
Of the prisoners that have already been released, one, who was sentenced for raping a 13 year old girl, has found the girl and raped her again; there's a gang of ex-prisoners prowling the streets of Prague beating up anyone who's not Czech. The list goes on.
Its impossible to think of something like this happening over here, but its a reality there. The general population simply can't believe what's going on.
There's also a presidential election in full swing. Scroll down the article below and have a look at one of the candidates. A bloke nicknamed the "Avatar" man. Apparently, he was one of the most trustworthy candidates of the lot!!!

Hope is what keeps us going.

Here's more info:

bun theft worth a year's jail
The main police witness in the case was his former girlfriend, who was driving the car that made a getaway with the buns. She escaped charges by informing on him and a co-accused.

Today I'm angry about supermarkets removing part-horse beefburgers from sale before I've had a chance to try one. What's wrong with eating a bit of horse?

May the bridges I burn light your way
