It's not a proper January transfer window if we're not going to be linked with Veloso, I saw him at the training ground this morning... Not ours unfortunately

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
I've been waiting for a headline for years, something to do with a footballer mailing his girlfriend over to the states to evade a visa or summat, anyway the headline on the back page of the Sun or somewhere would be Veloso Wrapped Hercalcalstar wrote:It's not a proper January transfer window if we're not going to be linked with Veloso, I saw him at the training ground this morning... That's not a leopard!

From the Beeb, courtesy of the Sunday Star:
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is tracking Bolton's fit-again winger Lee Chung-yong, according to the Daily Star.
Lee, who has five goals for Dougie Freedman's side this term, missed most of last season after suffering a double leg fracture in a pre-season match at Newport.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
I can see one or both of Eagles and LCY leaving.
Apart from anything Eagles doesn't sound like he's up for it at the moment. It could be because Mavies isn't on the pitch and I think they link quite well at times. Or it could be he fancies a change. If he's bangin' the goals in it's one thing but if not he's a bit of a luxury, like Petrov.

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

ANFIELD chief Brendan Rodgers is tracking Bolton’s fit-again winger Chung-Yong Lee.
The Reds are interested in snapping up the South Korean, 24, before the transfer window closes.

It would just be three wingers... out of how many! You can play young strikers on the wing and we always got Wylde. I'd love to make money from Eagles/LCY and get the next two Zaha's on the cheap.Athers wrote:We can't just sell all our wingers?!

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
I do think that should Lee go then it would appear, at least to me, that the board and manager have decided to give up the fight for promotion and remain in this division for the foreseeable future. With less and less gate receipts, Korean shirt sales and sales of beer and pies, I would think we'll be lucky to remain in this division beyond next term. I'm getting a 50s/60s/70s feel about it all. I still think Coyle deliberately sabotaged us and the damage is so deep that DF is in the deep end without an outboard motor. Last time we lost a "Lee" we nose dived so de javu perhaps.

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

Good point, we got relegated the year after David Lee was sold to Wigan.Gravedigger wrote:Last time we lost a "Lee" we nose dived so de javu perhaps.

Heard on twitter (som it must be true) that Ricketts & Knight will be offered a settlement to cancel their contracts by the end of the window. Just waiting on Riley's fitness and this West Brom lad. Ream has been offered to numerous clubs for a knock down fee.

I'd keep Ricketts over Mills, all other things being equal - which I'm not sure they are

Not sure why Mills would be on any less than Ricketts and Knight
All three signed in the summer
Anyway, who fcuking cares

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
I'd go with that. Plus Mills has grafted in this league in the past. Ricketts is a bertie big bollocks premier league wanker.
Reliable source? Seems like a bold move for two first xi men. End of the season seems more realistic?
