Sounds like he prefers Rovers instead now. Appleton was his coach at WBA under Hodgson.
The Sherpa Van Trophy! We've won it one time!

I'd like to see examples to prove your point.boltonboris wrote:Of the 4 things you've listed, only one of them is actually trueenrdentw wrote:I really don't understand why so many rate N'Gog on here. Plus he's never fit.
- he struggles to hold up the ball
- he can't beat a man
- he's not a natural finisher
- isn't blessed with blistering pace
In addition, he has fitness issues and very rarely plays a full 90.
But, of course, he works hard. Agreed, it's not a bad trait but one of the most overrated attributes, especially when the player can't supplement the high work rate with any other skill or attribute.
If he had 3 of the 4 he'd still be playing for LFC
Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
It's fairly obvious to anyone who watches him that he possesses the traits you mentioned, with the exception of the 'natural finisher' bit.enrdentw wrote:I'd like to see examples to prove your point.boltonboris wrote:Of the 4 things you've listed, only one of them is actually trueenrdentw wrote:I really don't understand why so many rate N'Gog on here. Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Your absolutely right he does possess those traits but not at the required level.
The proof will be in the pudding when/if he is sold, in terms of value and the standard of team that signs him. He won't be signing for a premier league club that's for sure, contrary to reports.

Apart from a natural finisher IMO he has the other traits you mention

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Dunno, is he a quick fix? Doesn't sound like there'll be an option to buy as WB just want a kindergarden for him. So does he go straight into the first team? Squad player? I'm wondering if he can just walk straight into our defence at 22 and improve things, if he can then awesome.bettyrasta wrote:This sounds positive and well done if there was competition for him.Loyal White wrote:Dawson on loan for the season is a done deal, what I'm hearing.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

BoltonBoris could walk into our defence and improve things. I on the other hand would probably make things worseArmchair Wanderer wrote:Dunno, is he a quick fix? Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I think we have too many folk getting confused with "he's not Davo" and "that makes him really good".Beefheart wrote:It's fairly obvious to anyone who watches him that he possesses the traits you mentioned, with the exception of the 'natural finisher' bit.enrdentw wrote:I'd like to see examples to prove your point.boltonboris wrote:Of the 4 things you've listed, only one of them is actually trueenrdentw wrote:I really don't understand why so many rate N'Gog on here. He's a below average Championship striker - like Davo.
And as Dibs said in his original post, he's a walking (sometimes) sicknote.
Taxi for two, to the Reebok, please.
Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
The People tomorrow will reveal a bit more about the Dawson situation, a cash buy we are after and interest in a couple of our players. So says an insider on Twitter that might be Alan Nixon
Pfffft.
