I hear ya. I experienced the snow and rain before I left for here. Rather stupidly I'm heading to the UK for a visit next month!malcd1 wrote:
I can put up with a wet, cold winter as long as we have a 'reasonably' warm, dry summer. 2012 was so wet I feel as though we've gone from winter to autumn to winter again.
I really couldn't cope with the 50 Deg C temperature though. You can keep that.

Bijou Bob wore a red hat to the match last Saturday. His stock is low. Very low!mrkint wrote:Careful, Bijou Bob will have yer guts for garters with grammar like that.
Anyway, today I'm happy about everyone else's arses falling out over the 'severe weather warnings' and leaving both the M62 ad the A1M to me and one or two others. Bolton to Newcastle in 2 hrs 20, and back in 2 hrs 30

Better than them tosspots on the M40/M6 yesterday that figured because it was snowing (not sticking anywhere) that 50 mph in the outside lane with feck all in front of them and nowt in the middle lane, was appropriate.Bruce Rioja wrote:Bijou Bob wore a red hat to the match last Saturday. Re: Today I'm happy about......
I booked today off a while ago which given the weather, has turned out to be a bit of a result.
Took the dog for a long walk in the snow and it was really nice to see lots of families out and about, pulling the young kids around on sledges. Just got back, musics on, brew & crisps in hand and later on i'm going to make a leek & potato soup for when the Mrs finally gets home through the inevitable gridlock.
Happy days

See, that's exactly what I need, only I've no potatoes, leeks or creme fraiche. The shops are a 1/4 of a mile away, and that's a 1/4 of a mile further than I'm prepared to venture.Harry Genshaw wrote:later on i'm going to make a leek & potato soup

Sorted. The lady next door assumed I must be poorly and called to ask if I needed anything from Morrison's? "Yes. Yes I do...."ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Can nobody sledge you to Morrisons?Bruce Rioja wrote:See, that's exactly what I need, only I've no potatoes, leeks or creme fraiche. Was it the 8 day collection of mail & milk bottles ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I was annoyed at myself for ordering a boatload of takeaway last night in a drunken haze. However, my blistering hangover this morning was abated somewhat by realising I'd left most of it in the fridge. Jerk chicken for lunch? Oh yes sir.
