According to reports Bolton Wanderers are interested in Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates.
is he any good? or is he one of those who is maybe not better than the players we already have that Dougie is looking for?

If we do sign Coates I for one will refuse to pronounce his name Co-ah-tees. He can be good, plain old Coates, as in 'ats & coats.
Otherwise he can take those opportuinities with little old Wiggin or West Brom.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Seb Coats: sounds very Bolton.
He's a Uruguayan International - they've won the World Cup as many times as England have. He must therefore be ace. Whether he can race between cones without perspiring however is another matter.
Also, I have grounds for concern that maybe one of the names in the envelopes was his.

Uruguay have won it twice. The first was 1930 and then again in 1950.

Let's just refer to him as Ralph. Wonder if he has a comb over?bobo the clown wrote:If we do sign Coates I for one will refuse to pronounce his name Co-ah-tees. He can be good, plain old Coates, as in 'ats & coats.

I could cotton on to a bloke with a name like that, but he'll probably turn out to be bobbins.Burnden Paddock wrote:Let's just refer to him as Ralph. Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

On a player that looks like he might be realising his potential... I could understand why we have waited on his contract talks as he looked shite until recently. Bit gutting in hindsight

Apparently Alonso has already agreed to Join them at the end of the season (25k a week). Is he on a free at the end of the season?boltonboris wrote:Marcos Alonso to Fiorentina is a done deal apparently. Half a million quid
Fiorentina want him now so have offered dosh which we had rejected. Things may have changed though.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
I'm not blaming the club for not offering a contract. And I won't exactly be dissapointed if he goes, a few good games, but still can't defend and is never ever a left back IMO, not in a team who struggles defensively at least.boltonboris wrote:On a player that looks like he might be realising his potential... But well it's just more losses on transfers.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Shame, as he has just begun to show what he hasn't for the past 3 years. But we can hardly claim that he's been our lynch-pin and enough of us would have driven him there 3 months ago.

He's a f*ckwit as well.No tears here.
Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
It'd be a shame to see him go. People might say 'he's only had a few good games' but for the most part they've been recently. For a player his age I don't see his form prior to that as particularly relevant and him leaving will leave us short at LB.

He wont be replaced with anyone expensive either.
Isnt there a young lad coming through? Get to 50 points and give him a go.
