Re: Today I'm angry about.....
2013.
I've never given in to supersitions about No 13. So far this year, it hasn't started well. First a leaking roof and the subsequent costs of repair, removal of chimney stack, re-tiling, new ridge tiles and numerous repair, new TV ariel etc (plus building insurance laughing it all off as wear and tear), then I found I've almost certainly got a hernia (doctors next week for confirmation). This morning I had to climb up on the extension roof because the overflow pipe coupling had come adrift and a mini Niagra Falls was in operation from the bathroom sink. To round off a bad day, the electric supply to the cooker went missing at tea-time. Still waiting for the electrician to get in touch because the wall socket's gone so it doesn't seem to be the cooker. Nothing tripped in the fuse box, so a mystery and microwave is all we have for food supply.
Oh, and the cost of electricity is crippling, especially in this cold spell. We have no gas and the bills are mind-numbing. Not the best of starts for No 13 then.

Oh Bruce ... don't do it ... don't do it (bobo covers his eyes to avoid seeing the impending slaughter)
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Are [sic] economy seems to me to have little bearing on the chances of you even receiving a reply to your applications. But God loves a trier, and you're certainly that.bwfcdan94 wrote:your saying that are economy has nought affect on my chances of getting a jobBruce Rioja wrote:Work it out!bwfcdan94 wrote:please explainBruce Rioja wrote:We could be rolling in fecking clover, Son, for all it affects your job chances! thank you, I actually think that the second is more important than the first (wow did I just see the positive side of something). so have you resigned me to a life of doll (until future governmant stops it) in your book.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
See, Dan, when you write off for a job then the person that's sifting through the applicant entries is also unlikely to have met you. What they will do is pass judgement on you / form an opinion of you based purely on that that you've put in front of them.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I imagine he is suggesting that it will be hard for you to get interviews for the better level jobs if you continue to write so poorly. If you used spellcheck you would find words like 'governmant' underlined in red. You could then check to see how the word should be spelled (or spelt). Of course it would not help with 'life of doll', since doll is a word so you should have someone proofread for you. No one is going to interview someone for a job which requires a level of literacy if they write:
1. Is there a difference between 'your' and 'you're' (ditto there, their, and they're)?
2. What is the difference between 'are economy' and 'our economy'?
3. Nought is a word and a good one, as is naught but are either the word you want here?
After this you should start using capitalization and punctuation.
It is possible you are capable of writing reasonable English with correct orthography, but we have seen little evidence of this. You tend to write gibberish here which leads to the assumption you cannot write better. This is unfortunate as the assumptions we make may be unjust, but personnel managers will make similar assumptions if you write in your applications in the style that you use here.
