According to SSN, that Fraser lad just decided to turn down the move.

Hamilton youngster Gary Fraser has stunned his manager Billy Reid by turning down a move to Championship club Bolton. "I was really shocked to be honest," said Reid, quoted in the Daily Record. "As far as I was aware the move was pretty much done and dusted. The clubs had agreed a fee and we'd moved on."

If he wanted, he could sign a pre-contract with a foreign club now.

Other problem is, that if he's been offered £25K a week at Fiorentina, would another club match that, AND pay a transfer fee?

Someone mentioned before that the club has to pay the wages for the rest of the contract, even if player is sold. So if Alonso will earn £500k for the rest of the season and someone offers us £200k, it would cost us money (£300k) to sell. Is that right? Or is the fee on top of the wages for the rest of the season?

Fee's usually include the remainder of the contract, plus a bit extra to compensate us. So yes, if we have 500k left of wages on his terms (which we won't, but let's use these figures anyway) and we're offored £200k, it'd cost us £300k unless the player waived his contractual rights in order to secure the move (transfer request).
