Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Probably saw how well Gregg Wylde is doing down here and thought otherwise.

good (not that we are losing him - but that if it is inevitable then maybe we can screw a few more pennies out of someone with a bidding war!)

Nae ambition lad...balls to you!Hamilton youngster Gary Fraser has stunned his manager Billy Reid by turning down a move to Championship club Bolton. "I was really shocked to be honest," said Reid, quoted in the Daily Record. "As far as I was aware the move was pretty much done and dusted. The clubs had agreed a fee and we'd moved on."

Stick him on ebay [12 hours to go] with a reserve obviously.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:UPDATE: Alonso is attracting interest from a wide variety of Premiership and Championship clubs.

Exactly. Though nobody is going to pay masses when they can have him on a free in a few months.thebish wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:UPDATE: Alonso is attracting interest from a wide variety of Premiership and Championship clubs.

If he wanted, he could sign a pre-contract with a foreign club now.
Other problem is, that if he's been offered £25K a week at Fiorentina, would another club match that, AND pay a transfer fee?
Hmmm.
I wonder if we will only sell NGog and Alonso if we can line up replacements. Perhaps in the loan window that stays open post January?

Though for Wylde I'd suggest no reserve price, bidding starts at 99p and free delivery!

I think N'go will sign'n'go and we'll be fine without a desperate "Rasiak". Strikers, we got.BWFC_Insane wrote:I wonder if we will only sell NGog and Alonso if we can line up replacements. Perhaps in the loan window that stays open post January?
Left-back's different; I'd expect us to sniff around for a loanee, unless DF is really confident in the development prospects.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Someone mentioned before that the club has to pay the wages for the rest of the contract, even if player is sold. So if Alonso will earn £500k for the rest of the season and someone offers us £200k, it would cost us money (£300k) to sell. Is that right? Or is the fee on top of the wages for the rest of the season?
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Fee's usually include the remainder of the contract, plus a bit extra to compensate us. So yes, if we have 500k left of wages on his terms (which we won't, but let's use these figures anyway) and we're offored £200k, it'd cost us £300k unless the player waived his contractual rights in order to secure the move (transfer request).Armchair Wanderer wrote:Someone mentioned before that the club has to pay the wages for the rest of the contract, even if player is sold. Looks like we have missed out on Curtis Davies. I know he is a bit crap but he would have fitted in. I would say that though (MalcDavies1).

never knew that! crumbs, you'd have to be pretty frickin unwanted for any club to agree to that.boltonboris wrote:Fee's usually include the remainder of the contract, plus a bit extra to compensate us.
