I can't come up with any logical reason why we'd loan out sordell...Jez wrote:If we actually do loan out sordell it will completely kill an incredibly positive window.

Work harder at it, Bish:thebish wrote:I can't come up with any logical reason why we'd loan out sordell...Jez wrote:If we actually do loan out sordell it will completely kill an incredibly positive window.
* Needs a run of games
* Possibly homesick
* Kickstart career at lower level
* Competition for places has increased with Craig Davies
...but no, I wouldn't be happy if he leaves, and frankly I doubt he will.
Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
I would be flabbergasted if he goes out on loan. N'gog could be off so only senior front men would be Davo Cravies and Sordell.Jez wrote:If we actually do loan out sordell it will completely kill an incredibly positive window.

That £500k can't be used to sign any sort of replacement though. That's the issue. Alonso is not a player who is worth £500k, he's worth far more but his value is low because of the issue with his contract. There is absolutely no way we can adequately replace Alonso for £500k, especially not on transfer deadline day when every other club has us over a barrel.BWFC_Insane wrote:Aye you're right, £500K loss is peanuts. Plus whatever weekly figure he's earning.
Perhaps you could sub that amount to Eddie. Might help.
Christ the way some fans talk about writing off masses of money on players who have barely performed, it does make me worry.
If we are offered a decent amount, take it and run. He's leaving for now in the summer.
So you have a choice. Either you don't replace him at all or you bring someone in for an exaggerated £500k, who wouldn't be anywhere near as good as Alonso. Those sort of players won't get you anywhere.
We'd be better off keeping our team strong and pushing for promotion. Sure, it might cost us £500k and wages but if the gamble pays off, we might get promoted. It's not impossible at all but it is impossible if you let go of your best players and replace with them with dross who are only there because you're desperate.
For whatever reason, you seem to want Bolton to get rid of all the quality we have and replace them with players who are nowhere near as good. I don't understand that at all.

Alonso is only in the team because Warnock went back as we couldn't afford his wages.SmokinFrazier wrote:That £500k can't be used to sign any sort of replacement though. That's the issue. Otherwise he'd be warming the bench still, at best.
A few good games, does not mean the fact that Damien Duff destroyed him, didn't happen.
Our chances of going up are minimal. Even if we did by some miracle, the fact you think we'd offer him 25K a week to match Fiorentina (and reality is we'd probably have to offer more than them) is mind boggling. That's how we got in this mess, paying silly money to players who hadn't earned what they'd already been paid!
Im willing to bet Dougie could do well with £500K.
I mean he's hopefully signing a player for less that has thebish drooling already....
Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
I thought Arry didn't want to bankrupt QPR?
Spent 10 million or so on Remy and 12 million on Samba
Not to mention the wages aswell.

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
As much as I disagree with the idea of selling Alonso, I feel obliged to point out that we wouldnt be completely over a barrel considering a loan window follows deadline day.

Samba is 4.5 year contract as well. That's 35m quid or so for Samba. A decent defender and no more. Surely they're headed the same way as Portsmouth at this rateChrisC wrote:I thought Arry didn't want to bankrupt QPR?

Those two alone will be £22m fees, wages pa (on, say a 3 year contract at £100k pw & £80k pw) £27m. Plus signing on fees ... often c 10% and agents fees, anything between 10-20% ... so let's say 15%
Total, for TWO players = around £61m over 3 years.
Madness.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Samba is apparently on £100k a week, complete madness but 'Arry will, sadly, keep them upChrisC wrote:I thought Arry didn't want to bankrupt QPR?

Re: Worthy's better class of transfer thread
Redknapp, earlier this month: "We have a lot of average players here. Yet we are paying them huge money. You shouldn't be paying massive wages when you are getting 18,000 people... I don't want to see the owner's pants taken down any more than they have in the past. There are an awful lot of agents making money out of our team."Salford Trotter wrote:Samba is apparently on £100k a week, complete madness but 'Arry will, sadly, keep them upChrisC wrote:I thought Arry didn't want to bankrupt QPR?

League results under Redknapp: DDDWLLLWDDD – 11 games, 12 points; at that rate they should just about crest 30 points. Ask Southampton fans about his ability to avoid relegation. Or Portsmouth fans about his financial legacy.
Don't call him a wheeler-dealer though...

This thread is officially inferior. I'm off to bed and it is only page 97. Very disappointing Worthy. I think Dan should start the next one...Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:If this thread doesn't reach 100 pages by the time I go to bed tonight I shall consider it inferior to it's predecessor.

Nixon says:
Bolton are very close to Kamara deal - despite massive bids to hijack it. Cheap as chips. Big coup. Offers for Ngog, Alonso not enough yet

Italian window is shut now apparently. So if Alonso goes, he's staying in England
